AMD 11.11 WHQL Catalyst driver CAP 2 Now Available

AMD has now released the CrossFireX Catalyst Application Profiles 2 for their latest 11.11 WHQL drivers. The improvements apply to just two games:
New profiles added to this release:

- Saints Row 3: Resolves stuttering seen when playing in CrossFireX mode. Also provides Single GPU and CrossFireX performance improvements when running in lower resolution configurations
- Gothic 4 Arcania: Fall of Setarrif: Improves CrossFire performance
There's nothing yet for hit game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in this release, unfortunately. CAP 2 can be downloaded here.

There are some minor lighting issues with ATI cards in TESV so ATI needs to fix it.

these drivers gave me a good FPS bump for BF3 and Skyrim. (4870X2)
BF3 is finally playable on MED (before that couldn't play even on lowest settings)
I def. recommend these drivers!

There is supposed to be a new BF3 patch coming out next week that are supposed to improve some things. I really hope they fix my problem. Games been out almost a month and still no fix from Nvidia or AMD. Eyefinity feels almost more trouble than its worth till you get the game working with it. Then it feels so much better.

Edit: Sorry meant BF3 patch not new drivers... Not quite awake yet.

I have major probl with my 6850 1gb and TESV,
if anisotropic filtering on + two certain shader effects triggering (poison darts & dragon stone effects) = vga & total system freeze that isn't fixed by resets only power downs

Yes, frustrating isn't it? Especially considering it's an AAA title, so I don't understand it. I don't play the game, but from the comments I've seen (erocker is one, I think) XF performance is actually less than a single card, so a CAP is badly needed. I don't see what's so technically difficult about releasing this?

Sometimes it's not somehthing as easy as fixing overnight. There are protocols that need to be gone through first and it takes a little time. Here I have posted the new 11.11a "performance driver" from AMD. It's not "officially" released yet, but the download is from AMD. Have a look here: www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155509

As far as CrossFire and Skyrim, it works.. You just need to use RadeonPro. Even then preformance is better, but there are a couple obvious driver tweaks that are going to be needed for syncing the cards. I'm going to try out the new 11.11a drivers once I'm home.

I should also mention that I'm getting pretty bad performance with my GTX 460 and Skyrim. I'm waiting on a new Nvidia driver for that.

I find nothing frustrating about this. It's always been this way and it's a part of being a PC enthusiast. If I didn't want to work through the bugs, occasional driver issues and whatnot, I'd buy a console.

True that.....and who wants a console ?:confused::confused:?

Even forewarned, I was still surprised at the bump in frame rate when I went to a single card from the Xfire. Hopefully, AMT/ATI will get their butts in gear, and get us a Xfire fix, and a profile soon...
