New Radeon Pictures Leaked: HD 7770

First pictures of AMD's mainstream card, HD 7770, have now been leaked online. This card is the first major upgrade to the HD 5770 in two years, since the HD 6770 was just a rebrand. It features the Cape Verde GPU, which replaces the Juniper GPU used in the HD 5770/HD 6770. The card looks somewhat different, with a large fan sitting on top of the GPU, blowing directly onto it and the card's length is the same as the HD 5770, at around 8.25 inches.
SPECIFICATIONS
  • Three display outputs, DVI, HDMI and miniDisplayPort
  • Single Crossfire connector for 2 cards max
  • The reference PCB has four GDDR5 memory chips, implying a 128-bit memory interface
  • Single 6-pin PCI-E power connector
  • Around 100 Watts power consumption
Finally, as can be seen by the second picture of the naked PCB, the Cape Verde GPU is physically quite small for this level of performance. The old Juniper XT is 166 mm², the GF116 is 230 mm² (NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti), while this GPU looks like it's under 150 mm². Judging by the sizes of the fan and the GPU, this card should be quiet and have good thermals.

This looks like 6870 on 28nm with 128bit bus.
They should have made it shorter there is so much unused space on that pcb.

looks like the 4670s heatsink, hopefully they will put out a smaller PCB without the 6pin connector. Be nice to see this in the $150 range:)

Interesting ES, seeing the stock cooler on the PCB would be completely impossible to mount due to where the smds are located.

I'm tempted at the moment but will have to see the final results.

why so? The heatsink and PCB look like the low mid for the last few gens should be cheaper to produce. I guess 75xx=64bit,77xx= 128bit,78xx=256 and 79xx=384?
edit: isn't pci-e II 150w output per slot?

New info:
Cape Verde is expected to be the cheapest GCN based product. Everything below HD 7700 series – from HD 7600 and down – is expected to be rebrands with minor tweaks from HD 6000 series featuring the VLIW-5 architecture.
