Battlefield 4 Beta Confirmed with Warfighter LE Pre-Orders

EA has confirmed reports that a beta invite to Battlefield 4 will be included with pre-orders of the Medal of Honor: Warfighter Limited Edition. The announcement claims the Battlefield 4 beta will be available sometime in fall 2013, so you have a while to wait. EA points out that the two games are very different, but touts the shared heritage of the Frostbite engine. Yesterday, the rumors started churning from a leaked ad that promised the beta. Today you can actually order the Limited Edition from Origin, which costs $10 more than the standard edition.

Fall 2013 for the beta alone? Nice amount of time to do something good I think.

Battlefield: Advanced Warfighter of Duty!!!!!

EA put a Battlefield 3 Beta invite in Medal of Honor Limited Edition and 2 days into the Beta they opened it to everybody so not much of a incentive.

Bumblebee please contain your posts to a single shot. Double posting so much 1337ness is to much for 56k modems.

Anyway this isnt as bad as the Call of Duty cycle. BF4 will be out in 2014. We will have two new CoD by the time BF4 drops.

The time between main releases should be long like between BF2 and 3. They have Bad Company they can do in the mean time.

Too soon?

3 years? Not to bad IMO. BF3 2011. BF4 2014. However I agree with you. I would like to see 4 years.

I'd love to get a new BF ever year, but done right.. If they give us a updated engine and not just shine... I'd be all over it. So, new game ever engine cycle, not 2 or 3 games ever engine cycle. :toast: Company's that make a new game every year should be on a subscription base IMO ($59.99 you own the game, but get a year free full of updates).

I'd like to see a return to the 1.5 Frostbite. Environments were a bit more destructable but at the expense of being less pretty. Or just better destruction on FB2. Doubt it until new consoles release. Despite what DICE said, BF3 was still designed with the console's power abilities in mind.

Hope Premium people get some kind of discount.

No company in its right mind would do so, its just a very bad investment, they spend so much money to build the engine and developed the foundation just so they can construct their games on that same foundation, also note that the engine might have more goodies that bf3 did not completely take advantage of. Now they have more time a people to work on the game itself. So why dump something that clearly has a lot to offer still.

I stated that's how I would like it.. I didn't saying that's what they will do. Also, who says companies are in there right mind? Plus, I'm pretty sure Dice has upgraded it's engine every time a BF game has come out except for maybe BF2 and BF2142 sharing the same engine... I don't mind sharing when they are that different. And I'd love to get BF 2143 before BF 4... :toast:

I want LAN play and Bots again, but that's not going to happen is it? Honestly, I've played BF3 maybe...five times. I just can't stand the online mentality and it's cheap-shot-kill-everything-if-you-aren't-following-this-exact-path-and-build-you're-a-moron-and-personally-responsible-for-our-losing attitude.

I have few greater gaming memories than BF1942/BF2 with bots and friends at a LAN party, trying to hold the line against 5x more enemies than us. Until they bring that back I don't see myself owning or even playing any BF game past 2.

(sigh...and yes, I'm probably in the minority with this...)

Valve doesn't have any shareholders to satisfy, which is why they don't crank out games like Activision or EA.

Not in the least. They have expansions going deep into next year.

I can't really vote on either opition here... I will "consider it". I consider Battlefield to be the best all around combat game on the market to date. The only other competition out there is Sony's Warhawk/Starhawk. I love how far the game has come. Thus, I may purchase the beta verison just to get my hands on the game earlier than I otherwise could.
