Lenovo and Acronis Team Up for New Complete Data Backup Protection Solution

LenovoEMC Limited today announced the worldwide launch of a unique new data protection solution providing 360 degree backup protection for business information storage on servers, PCs and NAS. This solution is available globally as an add-on application for owners of existing Lenovo EMC high performance px Series NAS products and as the new all-in-one Lenovo EMC px Series Acronis Backup Appliance for European, Middle Eastern and Asia-Pacific markets.

The combination of LenovoEMC storage technology with leading backup software by Acronis gives business users an all-in-one backup and recovery appliance with a hassle-free data protection strategy. With one product, available at a fraction of the cost of purchasing the hardware and software separately, business customers can now protect client PCs and servers by backing them up to the NAS, as well as protect the NAS data by backing it up to a separate network location. This solution provides multiple layers and locations for data protection.

Acronis Backup & Recovery for Lenovo EMC NAS is available worldwide as an add-on application download for existing Lenovo EMC px Series customers. In Europe, Asia and the Middle East, the new Lenovo EMC px Series Acronis Backup Appliance product is also available in high performance desktop models, featuring two- to six-drive bays and 1U and 2U rackmount arrays with up to 12 bays. An ideal backup target for all network connected devices, this new all-in-one backup appliance offers up to 48TB of raw data storage.

Acronis Backup & Recovery for LenovoEMC NAS is a new approach to NAS backup. The Acronis backup engine resident on the LenovoEMC px NAS provides automated and fast incremental backup of the data on the NAS to a network storage target. This solution brings tremendous advances in NAS backup reliability and speed versus traditional open source file copying tools that are the standard today.

The new Lenovo EMC px Series Acronis Backup Appliance also includes OEM versions of Acronis Backup and Recovery 11.5for Windows and Linux Servers (one license of each), utilizing Acronis' state-of-the-art imaging technology to create a disk-image backup to the NAS containing the server operating system, applications and data.

Protecting client PCs at the source of document creation, True Image Lite 2013 by Acronis provides "non-stop backup" of up to three Windows PCs to the LenovoEMC px NAS.

Additional data protection features standard on the Lenovo EMC px Series of products include snapshots with VSS, EMC Atmos Cloud Connector, EMC Avamar data deduplication, RAID protection with hot swap drives, UPS support, built-in McAfee VirusScan, user quotas, and device-to-device data replication for business continuity.

The Lenovo EMC px Family Acronis Backup Appliance also includes the business features expected from Lenovo, including cross-platform file sharing and simultaneous iSCSI block access. High performance I/O is achieved through dual GbE connections with port bonding and link aggregation capabilities. The included LenovoEMC Personal Cloud technology offers unparalleled simplicity and versatility for data protection and access.

Active Directory support and remote access round out the comprehensive business features. The new Lenovo EMC px Acronis Backup Appliance also embeds the Milestone Arcus and MindTree SecureMind video surveillance applications along with support for PC, Mac and Linux clients.

Availability and Warranty
The new Lenovo EMC px Family Acronis Backup Appliance is now available in Europe and Asia. The backup appliance is available in both desktop and rackmount models, and in two storage configurations: diskless and 8TB (Asia only) models. Pricing starts at approximately ?555 for the diskless model.

For existing Lenovo EMC px series customers worldwide, Acronis Backup & Recovery for Lenovo EMC NAS is available for purchase with an SRP of $49 (USD). The combination of Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 for Windows and Linux Servers + Acronis Backup & Recovery for LenovoEMC NAS is available for purchase with an SRP of $249 (USD).
