so its not like old brand new
Someday I will have to test that Military Class 4 components.
Now I can say this and no one will try to argue that AM3+ hasn't been a dead socket for 3 yearsIts just an Atheros nic with shit Killer software just like the realtek codecs that did creative x-fi
Years ago I was given a Pentium 4 D so I bought a board so that I could use it. Would have never done it otherwise, but with a free CPU the price was right. Kind of like investing in AM3+ at this point in time. Buying completely new probably isn't a good idea, but that's not always the situation. Leftover parts in our closets, eBay, For Sale forums, etc.
At this point, for current GPU's, PCIe 3.0 is still not needed. If you want the support on the AMD side of the fence, then you either need to invest in a FM2+ based system (A88X) or wait for Zen.
