Via Announces NanoBook
Taiwanese company Via Technology shows off its prototype micro notebook at Computex 2007. The NanoBook has a 5 hour battery life running a 1.2 GHz C7 processor and 7 inch screen. Weighing in at 1.8 pounds expect a 30 gigabyte hard drive and up to 1 gigabyte of memory. Priced around $600, it competes with other mini notebooks from Palm and SamsungSource:Cnet

I would expect the price to be lower, but beggers cannot be choosers.
11,9"/12,3" Notebooks cost around 1500-2500 bucks.
Companies have to try harder to pack in those features of a full computer in about 1/2 i.n of width, plus have the screen built in too.
It's very difficult, but who wants to lug around a Shuttle PC and a 20 in. LCD at the airport?
