Starcraft 2 to Possibly Arrive Ahead of Schedule

The Vice President of Blizzard, the esteemed creator of such popular games as World of Warcraft and Starcraft, recently divulged some information about Starcraft 2. The already famous sequel to Starcraft has already seen a multiplayer beta at BlizzCon, and has supposedly been in development since Summer 2003. The Vice President divulged in a forum post that Blizzard was putting plenty of focus on the development of Starcraft 2. Considering how long the game has been in development, as well as the amount of attention Starcraft 2 is receiving inside Blizzard, public betas and demos for Starcraft 2 may be "just around the bend".

i cant believe its taken blizzard almost 10 years to come out with a sequel to one of the greatest pc games ever made, not to mention probably the best RTS ever put together.
it really "boils my water", and the sequel dosent look like more than a few new characters, and its 3d now. i dont know what to expect

1) Blizzard has equally popular games that need a sequel.
2) If they change too much, people will cry how it is not up to par with the 1st version.
Maybe starcraft was created perfect?

Nice, I can't wait for this game. I would be willing to bet that they will try to get it out for the Christmas rush.

From what I've seen I don't think I'll like it too much... they've changed too many things and the game looks too similar to Warcraft 3. I'm hoping it'll be worth it but I have my concerns...

same here. hope i grow to like it. i dont like the idea of different mineral patches though.. gives the person who reaches the better mineral patches first a tremendous advantage IMO. hope there is stacked minerals also. i enjoyed massing every once in awhile :P

I was addicted to starcraft when it came out, I remember downloading the demo on a 14.4 modem because my cable was out...

I will have to get this when it comes and probably play it for awhile, it looks a lot more technical than the massing crap of starcraft 1.

Woah Mama!
lmao! I thought they didn't even have an estimated-roughly-around-thereabouts release date to begin with. So in my eyes, this doesn't mean anything.

You'd think they would release a Diablo III some time. Considering that everytime I get on diablo, there are about 50k people still playing that game. Crap, theres no monthly fee, but I'm sure they still make at least a LITTLE bit of money on D2, through advertising in the chat channels and whatnot, and the game is still for sale, so people are still buying it. I don't get how these guys think sometimes.

Titan Quest was supposed to be the "diablo killer" or whatever. Yeah, that game lasted about 4 weeks on my computer before I got bored. It's pretty, but still doesn't play quite like diablo. Pretty doesn't cut the cake. Diablo does. :P

As for Starcraft... it's not a bad game. I never did get an official release date, but how long ago was it that I was seeing all the hype for this game? Almost a year (well maybe not a whole year)? And it was supposedly playable then. So what's taking so long

Pfft.... early.... Microsoft releases OS's faster than these guys can release a sequal. I've never made either an OS or a video game, but somehow it seems like they should be trying a little harder over at blizzard, what with all the MONEY they've been making lately.

Lol, every game, blizzard has come out with has hit the top (except Warcraft but that was there first game and it was still good). Blizzard is gamers and game developers. They don't care about time frames. They just make it right and put it out when it is done and everyone loves it. I'd say they are doing it right.

StarCraft is a great game and I will definitely be getting SC2 but I really want to see a WarCraft 4.

Imagine all those Peons and Night Elves in HDR and DX10 :D

Starcraft is like the god of rts games, it was so well balanced, fun, and worst of all addicting. Blizzard probably didn't want to release a sequel because of how high the first starcraft raised the bar. It was amazing.

Bleh I think diablo is long dead and past, they never said anything about making diablo 3, and I'm really starting to question the idea if they ever will...

If they do it will probably be based on the same engine WOW is.
