Hmm...slight improvement to the minimum FPS...other than that it has pretty much the same performance as the others.

I just got a laptop with a 8600gs in it, and win vista ultimate 64bit, would these drivers help me any? Crysis runs alot worse than I thought it would on this laptop. I know I wouldnt get much but I thought at least 800x600 on low settings, but it's really slow , like 10-15 fps, in windowed mode! lol. even oblivion is pretty bad. Any suggestions? source stuff runs fine over 50 fps.

Wow, it's been only about 8 hours since they've last "released" drivers. Downloading a new driver package every day makes me want to kill them. But, the possibility of getting 1 more FPS in Crysis is worth it.

these are only beta drivers! this is BS! what the hell do they do all day. when are thay finally gonna start releasing proper drivers instead of continually releasing beta crap (if u chose 2 use it then thats fine) but i prefer to get full releases & the fact that they dont come out very frequently SUCKS!!!! (just my 2 cents!)

Who cares if they are Beta drivers, at least we are getting drivers. The only thing official drivers have are WHQL certification, which means nothing. What does it matter if they are Beta drivers, as long as they work?

It could be worse, at least now they are releasing drivers that work with all their cards instead of just the 8 series, leaving the 7 and below users to hack the newer drivers to work with their cards.

Why does the link in the main post goes to the 196.21 beta version and not the 196.25 beta version?

I see that only the vista driver version is 196.25 but the xp version 196.21.

I will get a 8800gts 512 in january so I downloaded all beta drivers for xp 32/64 (196.21) and vista 32/64 (196.25) also all official drivers (but not supported for 8800 gts 512) for xp 32/64 (163.75) and vista (163.75) for the purpose of testing all.
