Dell Adds High-resolution Displays for XPS M1530

Dell has answered what it says is a common request and has today added more display options to its XPS M1530 gaming notebook. While the original 1280x800 version of the 15.4-inch display is still available, the Texas system builder now has the option of either a 1440x900 or 1680x1050 resolution screen at the same size. The new resolution should both a larger work area in the same space as well as a sharper image for HD movies played from the optional Blu-ray drive. Going from 1280x800 to 1440x900 will cost additional 50$, while the 16:10 1680x1050 resolution will add 100$ to the overall cost of the laptop.

I'm not that impressed. Alienware has a 15" laptop that has a 1920x1200 display - and they've had it for several months.

Edit: Looks like they don't carry that anymore.

Yea, this isn't a big deal. When I got my Inspiron 1520 I had the option of 1440x900 and 1680x1050, and that was back in August.

15.4" laptops used to come with 1920x1200 options, back in t'day, just that they never really had graphics processors that could hande them properly, now though, they have more powerful graphics, but lower res panels... hmmm, just doesn't add up.

hmmn i never liked laptops tbh coz for what my cousin uses his for its not worth it, yeah unless its got a 8400 nvidia minimum i wouldnt touch a laptop. His laptop has a great CPU but onboard rubbish Intel graphics kinda useless.

He uses it for mp3, internet and videos and his cost him over £600

As for Dell i dont really like them they lock bios settings and stuff and manufactured pcs always cost more.

Really the only decent laptops are very pricey and for the amount they cost your always gonna get a better pc.
No point in having high resolutions if they run at crappy speeds and dont have the hardware to back them up.
