Sweet, i might consider adding a HIS 3870 ice3Q turbo in CFX with my 3850 Ice3Q turbo. I got my new DFI 790FX-M2RS Yesterday. I am still putting her back together. The CFX possibility is most appealling. With two nice Ice3Q turbos sitting side bye side and my OCZ ATI crossefire edition ram.

Well I guess I will have to work at least another month to ad another Video card in there. I will see then.

mrhugglesCCC failed to load for me, well it loaded but i couldnt get at it. went back to 8.2 [im in xp]
had the same issue in XP - keep trying!

My third attempt to un/install 8-4 succeeded.
3DMark06 improved ~200 points (HD3850) and this driver feels faster overall (for me)

It's because with two cards your system is bottlenecked. A new Phenom would help that out.

Yes I was actually talking about your processor. I just did a ton of testing with crossfire and a 5000+ BE. There is deffinitely a bottleneck.

Served 5k and counting ...
Did not work out too well for me. I get something regarding "setup could not complete can not find matching hardware" or something of that nature so I just reverted back to Omegas 4.84. Those work actually very well.

Any official support for HD38x0 series on AGP?

Would be nice for AMD to throw us a bone three months after they released AGP HD3850 cards :ohwell:

No, they just actually work with crossfire and XP unlike 8.3's. There should be no problems with Vista. 8.3's worked fine for me with XP as well but only with a single card. Crossfire was broken.

The release notes state that it covers all 38XX series cards. No where does it say it's limited to PCI-E. Have you tried the 8.4's yet?

These drivers fixed CCC OC for my 3870, happy camper here.

With 8.3 and mild OC (800/1200) I would get a hard crash every 1h of gaming :/

I've noticed a bit of a drop, from 5296 with 8.3's in 3DMark06 to 5082. :(

I've also lost frames in CoD 4, might reinstall them and give them another shot in the mouth before I go back to the 8.3's or even 8.2's.
