3DMark Vantage to be Released Today

3DMark Vantage will be released today. It's the new DX10 version of their FM gaming benchmark series. PCMark Vantage is the first objective hardware performance benchmark for PCs running 32 and 64 bit versions of Microsoft Windows Vista. Anyone know if this going to be a run once version then you have to purchase to run it as many times as you want, or is just like /03/05/06 and you can run the basic edition as much as you want free of cahrge.

i really dont think current hardware is up to the task of DX10 3dmarking very well yet.

considering one massively oc 9800GTX and a Quad at 3.6ghz just sees around 60fps average over the game tests on 3dmark 06....

but ill gladly try it :D for free that is...

My guess is that the licensing will be the same as PCMark Vantage. 1 run for free only - then purchase required.

I might get 20 fps on 60 x 60 resolution on my gts :rolleyes: i think it will be a few years before we see high fps which is good, because its designed to test future cards. :toast:

No, it doesn't support dx10.1 and 64 bit and the dx10 support isn't even complementary.

I've just realised this will be the first title to be DX10 only, can't wait now! Hopefully developers will start to follow suite :D.

i just downloaded it here at work... burned it to disc for when i get home... but to only be able to run it once is crap :(

and i bet my HD2900pro will suck big time with it too :P

That sucks that it is one time only, or pay. Guess it will be one bench I dont bother with till they change their system back to how all the other 3dmark's are.
