NVIDIA GeForce Release 179.48 BETA for Notebooks Released

NVIDIA has launched a new BETA driver for its mobile GeForce graphics processors. The new drivers are numbered 179.48 and in theory they support all GeForce Go 7-series, GeForce 8M and GeForce 9M series notebook GPUs. The whole 7-series GeForce Go support is new to this driver, so be prepared for eventual problems. NVIDIA has also included CUDA technology support and PhysX hardware acceleration on GeForce 8M and 9M GPUs (with a minimum of 256MB RAM) within the package. Download the appropriate version of GeForce Release 179.48 for notebooks from here.

This driver will install on the following GPUs with the exception of some notebooks listed below:

GeForce 9800M GS
GeForce 9700M GTS
GeForce 9700M GT
GeForce 9650M GT
GeForce 9650M GS
GeForce 9600M GT

The following notebooks are not supported in this release:
- BenQ Joybook S42 (will be supported in an upcoming release)
- Dell Vostro notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)
- Fujitsu notebooks - (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks). Note: Fujitsu Siemens (FSC) notebooks are supported in this release
- Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Xi 3650 (will be supported in an upcoming release)
- Lenovo ThinkPad notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)
- Sony VAIO notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)
- Any notebook that is launched after the release date of this driver

I have a Dell Vostro laptop with a GeForce 8400M GS:mad:.
I don't really understand how it isn't supported, the same chip must be used in every laptop, the only thing the OEM might modify is the video BIOS.

laptopvideo2go.com and just install the LATEST desktop driver with cracked .inf. Works fine and huge performance increase.

I use the dox drivers, which works really good.

overclock it. i got ddr2 475/400. i oc it to 555/491..
