The AMD A8-5545M is a mobile processor with 4 cores, launched in June 2013. It is part of the A8 lineup, using the Richland architecture with Socket FP2. A8-5545M has 1 MB of L2 cache per core and operates at 1700 MHz by default, but can boost up to 2.7 GHz, depending on the workload. AMD is making the A8-5545M on a 32 nm production node using 1,178 million transistors. The multiplier is locked on A8-5545M, which limits its overclocking potential.
With a TDP of 25 W, the A8-5545M consumes only little energy. AMD's processor supports DDR3 memory with a dual-channel interface. This processor features the Radeon HD 8510G integrated graphics solution.
Hardware virtualization is available on the A8-5545M, which greatly improves virtual machine performance.
