The Intel Celeron J4005 was a mobile processor with 2 cores, launched in December 2017, at an MSRP of $107. It is part of the Celeron lineup, using the Goldmont Plus architecture with BGA 1090. Celeron J4005 has 4 MB of L2 cache and operates at 2000 MHz by default, but can boost up to 2.7 GHz, depending on the workload. Intel is making the Celeron J4005 on a 14 nm production node, the transistor count is unknown. The multiplier is locked on Celeron J4005, which limits its overclocking potential.
With a TDP of 10 W, the Celeron J4005 consumes very little energy. Intel's processor supports DDR4 memory with a dual-channel interface. The highest officially supported memory speed is 2400 MT/s, but with overclocking (and the right memory modules) you can go even higher. For communication with other components in the machine, Celeron J4005 uses a PCI-Express Gen 2 connection. This processor features the UHD Graphics 600 integrated graphics solution.
Hardware virtualization is available on the Celeron J4005, which greatly improves virtual machine performance. Additionally, IOMMU virtualization (PCI passthrough) is supported, so that guest virtual machines may directly use host hardware.
