Razer, the world's leading manufacturer of high-end precision gaming peripherals, is proud to announce the launch of the Razer Lycosa Mirror Special Edition and the Razer Arctosa, inspired by fusing both form and function into an ultra-sleek gaming keyboard. Both gaming keyboards retain the stylistic appeal and main features of the Razer Lycosa, with subtle differences to appeal to different gamer segments.

Features comparison:

The Razer Lycosa Mirror Edition is influenced by gamer feedback on the original Razer Lycosa where some gamers eschewed the rubber keytop for enhanced backlighting with clean lines. Razer's reply to that culminated in the Razer Lycosa Mirror Edition. A gaming keyboard like its predecessor, the Razer Lycosa, the differences between them are a high-gloss mirror finish on the former with enhanced backlighting for night gaming. The original award winning Razer Lycosa will still be sold at all major electronics retailers while the Razer Lycosa Mirror Edition will be available in December 2008.

The Razer Arctosa is designed to cater to the minimalist gamer looking for the bare essentials in a gaming keyboard. The Razer Arctosa is a basic version of the Razer Lycosa without the backlight but enhanced with fully macro-programmable and media access keys. The Razer Arctosa comes available in the standard silver-printed key letters but also comes with a black on black edition for gamers who have achieved the art of gaming without looking at their keys. The Razer Arctosa silver on black edition and the Razer Arctosa black on black edition will retail in November 2008 at global stores and online.

"The high-gloss mirror finish of the Razer Lycosa Mirror Special Edition will appeal to the stylistic crowd, while being powered by the exact technology which has catapulted the Razer Lycosa into one of Razer's core-selling products," said Robert "Razerguy" Krakoff, president of Razer. He continued "The Razer Arctosa's black on black version is a tribute to style personified. It's a basic gaming keyboard which also looks awesome with any gaming rig."

Nice. I just wish Razer would make the prices a little lower. Instead of $79.99, $59.99, and instead of $49.99, $39.99. Their keyboards cost too much for what your getting, IMO.

I've have/had their mice which are very nice quality IMO. As for the keyboards, I have no experience with them.

I have to agree the mice of theirs that I've had were very nice. But I have no experience with their keyboards. I do like the looks of the Arctosa but its hard to tell much about it from the picture.

^^ Yeah. Why black on black? That is kinda..... not good. Hah. Someone should do red lettering on black with no lights. That would be neato.

Razer's build quality is excellent. I have the original Lycosa and it's awesome. A little pricey though.

Most do...you're never getting an actually helpful gaming peripheral; rather just another KEYBOARD with a few buttons moved around and some razzle dazzle.

I can never say it enough: If you want button options and flexibility, get a stand alone keypad; you'll never touch your keyboard again, except to type.

idk if Im the only one to notice, in the pictures, the Arctosa looks like it has the mirror finish and the Mirror is the all black one. :wtf: Noticing the all black keys on the Arctosa gives it away but IMO it looks shinier than the Mirror.

The finish on the Arctosa is mirror, its the keys themselves that don't have the mirror finish.
The Lycos Mirror has the "mirror" finish on the key tops.

Well, I bought the original Lycosa at Best Buy this weekend. I had some coupon's which made the keyboard $76 after tax. I actually like the keyboard a lot. I normally don't spend $40+ on keyboards but I wanted to give the Lycosa a shot. I'm glad I did, because It's awesome. Movement in QuakeLive (only game I've played so far) seems better, smoother. It matches my Deathadder, its got the rubber surfacing, backlit keys that aren't too bright, nice feel, keys aren't too loud, etc. Worth what I paid. I highly recommend it over a Logitech keyboard. It's just as good, if not better that what Logitech has to offer.

If you installed any software with it, uninstall that software. Did you try setting any macro keys or anything?

Uninstall the software that came with the keyboard, or read through the instruction manual on how to set-up macro keys so that you can set it back to default.
