I can not get into my nvidia control panel, says application 2.1.270.00 has stoped working, any ideas?

Before trying to troubleshoot I'd clean up all my drivers etc and reinstall. Saves a head ache.

I would do exactly that, run a virus scan as well, run drive cleaner and reinstall. Also it might be the drivers you're using, I've heard a few people having trouble with the 180.XX betas, so you might want to grab the most recent wqhl drivers.
