Just yesterday i decided to send back my brothers XpertVision 4850 since after a good month we could not get it to stop Black Screening in 99% of his games :shadedshu
We tried everything that we had, different Drivers, different CCC program versions, different PC's and still no good :wtf: So i sent it back to let them test it and to replace it.
If then the replacement card is also doing the same thing, then its driver issues and my brother said he then will get a Nvidia card, just not sure what yet, but something that goes as good as the 4850, like the 9800GTX version maybe?
Shame tho the card when it did run it went very well, played all games easy and a good 10-15FPS more then my m8s 8800GT in most games. It also ran OMG cool, 25c at idle, and MAX ed out at 40c, was insanely cold :D

Anyway i hope it was the card stuffing up and not just driver issues =/ so we get a replacement card.
Also whats a good Nvidia card that will perform the same as the 4850?

Thanks all :)

Hmmmm ok fair enough, well all the cards ive had in the past, not all but most of them have been XpertVision, m8s 9800GT, 8800GT, 8600GT, 8500GT and maybe more i cant remember lol, they all have performed very well, and far as i know XpertVision is just a Palit with a different name? There the cheapest we can get here in Australia.

9800GTX is a fine card and you will be more than happy with it. Just make sure to get rid of any drivers or programs related to you old card. Run something like Driver Sweeper after uninstalling the drivers to make sure.:)

Im doing the same with a Palit 4870 Sonic edition. Tried it in a different pc, by itself and crossfire, tried both graphics slots as primary and secondary. Sometimes it would work, but then artefacts would appear very quickly, even idling at desktop. It wont put me off the Palit brand. Its just the inconvenience of rma'ing it back.

Yea but for the most parts stick with the mainstream brands like Vistiontek, Saphire etc...

Ok thanks :) yea we allways get rid of the other drivers and programs that go with ATI before installing a new card, at the moment he is running my old 8600GT, runs fine lol.

O ok thats interesting and not good =/ and thats the 4870...... o dear, sounds like there just some issues out there with some of there cards or drivers still :shadedshu
Yea i agree i had to do 3pages of paper work to send it back, and pack it perfectly etc, cost me $12 to send it back =/
9800GTX+. 0-5 fps diff in games with 4850.

Yea my brother said that the 9800GTX+ was about the same in performance but abit more expensive, so thats why he went with the 4850, after his 3850 went like a dream and was the same price as the 4850 1yr ago.

my Xpertvision HD2600 was good. OC'd from 600/700 to 850/850 without changing the voltage. (also never had a problem with it)

LMAO yea i totally agree with you there, just less expensive indeed, all the other brands are alot more, but yea even tho the XpertVision is a cheaper brand, there still expensive to what you would pay in the states, and with the ozzy $ dropped the price of all computer parts have gone up by close to $30-$40 :shadedshu

i have MSI cards now and they were cheaper than everything else i could have got so you might want to check the price of them and compare them. i got a refund from my Sapphire 3870x2 and got 2 MSI 4850's and $109 back so i thought that was prety good.
