Is This A Good Watercooling System?

I need your input to see if this is a good setup. I plan on cooling an overclocked Core i7 920 here sometime soon. I already have some Artic Silver 5 TIM. Anyways, here is the list:

1. Swiftech Apogee GTZ with LGA1366 Bolt-through Kit
2. Swiftech MCP655 Pump
3. Swiftech MCR-220 "Quiet Power" Series Radiator
4. 2 * 120mm Yate Loon D12SH-12 Radiator Fans - Black (88 CFM, 40 dBA)
5. Swiftech MCRES-MICRO Rev2 Reservoir
6. 14 Feet of 1/2" ID (3/4" OD) Tygon R-3603 Laboratory-Grade Tubing

Is this stuff fine? Am I missing anything? Are there any compatibility problems?

looks good, but i'd also consider a Feser Xchanger or a Thermochill PA120.2 rads. From my reserach the Swiftech is a good rad for the money but those 2 are just better, if its within your budget i would take a closer at those 2. But then again there is also Black Ice GTX, it works especially well with high CFM (80+) fans like the ones you are getting while the first 2 are better with mid to low CFM fans. Again, this is based on my research not first-hand experience.

Dont waste money on tubing. Go to lowes/homedepot and buy it for like 35 cents a foot. Otherwise looks very nice.

Also on the radiators I would suggest a Danger Den Black Ice II or the GTX...very good for the money.

well if you want to go on the cheap you can just use antifreeze...but I buy the Hydox stuff from swiftech, only because its UV reactive.

YOu can also use water wetter. ALso just go to any store and buy distilled water. No need for expensive mixtures, pure marketing hype...ok Maybe, and its a big maybe...1c difference.

The cheap Home Depot stuff tends to discolor after a while and has thin walls, but it works fine. Just use plain distilled water. The parts you chose look good, just make sure all of the fittings are 1/2".

you should use distilled water no matter what additives you put in it. the only thing additives, or silver lined tubing will get you is longer maintenance periods. But no matter what once you get into water cooling you will have to maintain your system a lot more then just blowing the dust off the fans like in air cooling. You have to do that, as well as blow out the radiator fins...hoses after a long time of use, depending on additives will lengthen this window, will start to turn cloudy. Water levels need to be checked...and as your system heats up, hoses my bend, or move, so you will need to keep a eye on your system, more so then air cooled.

I went to ace and bought my tubing put pt nuke in it dyed my distilled water red and let her go.

when i go nehalem in the next few months i will clean up the tubing and change the water

I have no problems with crap! I didn't know PVC or vinyl tubing was any different in home depot than what people paid too much for on the internet (not talkin about silver lined tubing). Could have fooled me! It looks less cool for sure.

Because it's the exact same stuff in homedept as they have at frozencpu.com for $3.00...now maybe the silver lined tubes are more valid. But seriously that is 10x the price I paid for tubing.

Not the same. The $3.00 a foot stuff (I usually find it cheaper) is thicker, more durable and is less prone to kinking.

i real hosing is better if you have tight bends, doesnt tend to kink like the cheap hose does.

also i would try to find i differen resevoir. i've had 2 of the swiftech res's develope stress fractures in them. the both never leaked, but any sort of crack is scary when it comes to water cooling.

has a few dimples milled into it for setting leds into it. makes the whole bay light up and glow. pretty neat effect.

Heck...I use home depot tubing, for $3 you get as much tubing as you want, it works as good, it flexible, and don't have any problems.
Also use distilled water with some blue food coloring so it matches my blue fans.

I have a AMD X2 4600 2.4Ghz OC to 2.7Ghz idles @ 27C and 45C load
GPU bfg 8800GT idles @ 33C load 40C not OC, as I have a CPU bottle neck, no point in OC the GPU as I don't benefit from it.
Hopefully Santa Claus will bring me a AMD Phenom X4 9950, I'm hoping.

Wow, for such a small oc you system runs a tad hotter than I thought it would. My Opty was from a 1.8ghz (Opty 165 mind you) to a 3.0 (1.2ghz oc) and never got above 41C on extreme loads and idled around 22C.
