Ok so basically i have a Nvidia gefroce 8400m GS and the website doesnt have any drivers for that card, and that i should get them from the laptop distributors site. Well Dell doesnt have the latest and greatest drivers and i was wondering if i could use this site.

It basically just you get the newest drivers and use the modded .INF file. Is this safe? I have done it with my desktop before. Also with the newest drivers ill get a big performance increase which i need.

That is the site i use for my HP lappy with 8600m GS. The drivers work good. Make sure you read the how-to so you patch the drivers with the modified inf file.

Yes i already now how to patch them. Just one question what version are you running, the latest? Also are you happy with the drivers and should i only get the WHQL certified ones?

I am running the most current version 180.84 just installed them yesterday and everything is running great. I never really worry about the WHQL since a lot of companies just can't afford to pay to get there drivers certified by microsoft. I haven't had any problems ever with a non WHQL driver.

Add the hardware ID of your card to NV's inf yourself. It's two lines you can copy/paste and change a number. Saves you a lot of searching.
