Better heatsink/fans for my 4870 x2.

Is there anywhere that sells better heatsink/fans for my card? Maybe a dual cooling solution like my old 3870 x2 (Gecube)?

My 3870 x2 was excellent with the dual fans on it. I idled much lower then 60c. I think about 40c.

Need a water block let me know........... I looked for a fan cooling solution, best I have seen is home brew.

I don't think I'd ever water cool my GPU's. Only CPU.

For aircooling it would have to be a home brew solution.

Say 2 Zalman VF-900's with a Swiftech Caldera heatsink.

I have no idea how well it would work, or whether the 900's are compatible with the mounting holes.

Anybody brave enough to try it?

Well I think personally there's no need. I think that the CPU is only good to watercool mainly because it's the main component in a PC :cool:

WCing a GPU is a good idea but volt mod is a better choice. But do volt mods at ur own risk.

hmm

3 things i would say to that

1.) I would never consider vmodding a top end card w/out water cooling...way too much heat
2.) If you want to run a high end GPU on air cooling and keep the temps real, its gonna be loud
3.) what do u use a high speed cpu for anyway?? gaming and encoding are the only things i can think of and for gaming a GPU is defo more important than cpu and soon for encoding gpu will be way more important too. Maybe image editing too??? but gpus are taking over that slowly as well

then you'll never see the GPU'S full potential........... There is no Voltmod for a 3870X3 opps take that back the one guy from the black opp board company has one. Even still you'd have to cool it better.

not keen on YL fans tbh...i have some and the air flow is poor, although they are quiet.

id go with a laing pump before a dtek as well
