friend of mine needs a better AM2 cooler than the stock ,only problem there's barely any room ,so it has to be similar sized to the original :(

we tried a Arctic Cooling Alpine 7 Pro and unfortunately it was way to big to fit,so needs to be small and better than the stock heatsink supplied with AMD x2 cpu.

CPu is X2 5200+ @2.6ghz ,not oc.

better question what type of case does he have... that would give me a better idea.

Only quick option here is a block based cooler because those are smaller and usually care 2 heatpipes.

You will need half height coolers for HTPCs it seems. I think Xigmatek has one out as does Thermalright.

I dunno about that

unless your talking about these

http://www.xigmatek.com/product/air-cobra-d984.php

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233022

those are the only possible xigmatek coolers that could fit in htpc case/lanbox

thermalright has the XP90
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835109119

I'm not really sure what else there is, I'm considering that Zalman myself. I know I plan to look into another cooler for next year.

there are also these
