wondering if safe....

alright..i have 8 gigs of 0cz reaper 1066mhz....now i know it isnt suppose to run at 1066mhz but at 800mhz if you have 4 sticks...now the thing is i can make it run stable at 1066mhz 2.1V stable for hours on end...cpuz checks out running at 533.3...im just wondering if i should leave it or not. k9a2 V1 bios .173

its usually the motherobard that holds it back. usually you only have to raise the northbridge voltages a notch or two, and it works fine.

Should be fine. Just run memory test to make sure its stable (and I'm mean really stable, I can post my q6600 at like 4.0 ghz with low volts but it won't pass 5 min of Prime95). Also make sure you have some good cooling going so your memory doesn't overheat.

If they aren't burning hot to the touch when running memtest, they should be fine. Just make sure to run memtest to insure stability.

Oh and please be careful if you do touch the ram. I have burnt the living shit out of myself doing that before. It's not pleasant at all.

Dang, that sucks. If its hot enough to literally burn your finger than you ram is definitely way to hot.

i had a heatpipe on my mobo go over 90C without realising due to a bad temp sensor. I was like 'hey. why does that sticker look melted?' and then i touched the heatpipe. burn, burn, burn. blister and everything.

silly part was, even at those temps the PC was completely stable.

Yeah, it was kingston value crap. It eventually died on me. I have also had my northbridge burn me before. Thats why I always add a fan to NB now.

My friend had interesting way of testing if the CPU is alive (AthlonXP palomino core) he removed the cooler and on put the finger on the CPU and power on the PC

. Palomino CORE working temp 80C-90C and core that it is not covered
