Unfortunately , your 865 does not compare with the performance of 875 .
I did not throw the above info on your face for fun.
I was hoping that you like to investigate the technical info, in depth.

Not many people are qualified to investigate , and there is no hard feelings on that .
But its boring to me to explain everything , over and over .
You have one board that is well known, as good but not TOP.

Tip : Operate the board at stock , with 2-2-2-5 capable ram.
If the ram its not 2-2-2-5 capable , the chipset does not enter in the performance mode.
If you move above 200Mhz , performance mode stops again, no matter the memory timings.

I875 , does not care about FSB or timing, the performance mode are always On .

There is the exception of my previous Abit AI7[i865PE], it would indeed hold PAT up to the limits of my OCZ DDR500, around 260FSB at 1:1, and even to 280, but using ram divider.

About all the old AGP I875 boards , i have to say , that performance comes due the max bandwidth , that the board can handle .

To get the max of it , you need to keep:
CPU + DDR memory + voltages + Bios settings = well adjusted .

The only software that helps to see with your eyes the max AGP bandwidth of your system.
Its the ancient " Final Reality 1.01 /1997 " .

Thats why Intel got sooo pissed when Abit, Asus and couple others figured out how to get around using the full i875 design, and mainly Abit, created the "GAT" that suppurassed the performance of the official "Intel 875" allowing the "PAT/GAT" to be utillized at a "no limits" performance gain.

I'll see if I can find my screenshots that can compare the i865PE from the previous Abit board, to the now "vannilla i865 on this Asrock.

Nice results revin , i have concluded that with 3850 , its additional core offers 5.5k in the sum.

Any way , thats fine with me , and so far i do not see the need for a second one ..

Never cared to be " the benchmarks king " ... but benchmarks are good , as indication that your hardware works well as it should ..

Renin , i think that you over did it .

Your memory clocks looks high , its because your card probably uses ram that max out at 1200Mhz .
As far i know the Hynix H5RS5223CFR-N2C can do that .
At DDR mode you should see 2400 , but thats not possible with out the proper voltage ,
You have max it out well .

But your core does not go well , it should go 900 - 914 MHz as max .

Any way , do not burn the card relax and start gaming at stock .
Thats a friendly advice .

Thanks, the 1.254v is all that is allowed from the 1.214 stock, so being that the temps stayed very cool, I think for the RV670 chip, 800'ish is good enough.

No idea about the ram either, but it seems that it's got enough headroom also.
Since this is my first in life experiance away form Nvidia, i'll be careful.

The default CCC O/C of 800/2000 is good enough for a pleasureable gameplay in Warhead, which was the reason to get the DX 10 card.

You run a 800Mhz core and at 1000 Mhz memory ..

I have find also my cards limits , it can do 914 core - 980 memory .
I believe that i had got a true keeper too .

I kept the Harlock screenie for comparison, and cleaned up the other's to url's.
I'll get the 3dMark 06 re-ran with the same clocks as you, since that's the scope of you're thread.

Well L/S, Thank you for all you're guidance!!!..... thinking that mabey there was some conflict with CCC 9.2, I removed ray adams ati tray, and re-ran cinebench Ogl, and still get low score.

If the others are getting 900+ with thier cards, then you think that i have a bad core or something?

I'm stumped why I dont atleast even you're scores? Getting ready to return this....................

Strange. I dont know what is wrong with your setup. For just a few percents of performance, it isnt worth returning. I dont think that is the problem.

Perhaps it is your Conroe 865PE? Try setting memory at stock. Check dual channel memory is working. Check AGP is 8x. Also run Radeon drivers 8.10.

Please do some of the CPU tests as well, as shown in the OP. That way we can track it down to memory, CPU, or GPU.

Thanks for the offer, eidairaman1. But your AMD Athlon is not in the processor sequence. What we are doing is we are testing UPGRADES to an AGP system via AGP GPU, or via CPU. Unless you have a similar CPU to what is in the chart... there is no where to put your X1950 results without starting a whole new processor sequence.

For posterity, please post your benchies if you like. But dont be disappointed if they dont make it into the table.
