The guys over at bit-tech.net are kind enough to show us the first live pictures of ASUSTeK's Eee PC T91 tablet PC. The Eee PC T91 is neither a notebook, neither a tablet. It is a netbook tablet if you know what I mean. It has a LED-backlit 8.9-inch display, like the Eee PC 900 and 901, that is touch-sensitive and can rotate at 180 degrees. The screen boasts typical WSVGA 1024x600 resolution. ASUS claims that once its screen is in position as a tablet, the T91 becomes the smallest and slimmest tablet PC to date. System specs also include an Atom Z520 processor, Intel US15W chipset, 1GB DDR2 memory, 10/100 Ethernet, 802.11 b/g wireless (n not confirmed), Bluetooth, 32GB SSD, Optional 3G data connectivity, GPS and DVB-T TV Tuner and an integrated webcam. The T91 will run Windows XP Home with Service Pack 3 installed. The Eee PC T91 is a couple of months away from release, but still ASUS wants us to know that a 10-inch version called T101 is also in the works. Find more information here.

The normal EEE PC models have wireless N. I see no reason why these would not.

I wonder why a z520 rather than the n270/80 or better yet finally n330.
only 1.3ghz on 1 core....
Looks like a winner nonetheless.

Maybe because the form factor has changed to slightly skinnier.

the normal eee PC models also have the atom n270. I think they are still trying to price this at the sub $400 price range, so they have to make some cut backs, on said hardware.

That could be why they are putting in lesser hardware. It would make sense. I hope they will have a model witht he n270 instead of the less powerful CPU.

I just hope that the atom 330 will be released soon. I believe that and a good onboard graphics solution will revolutionize netbooks for gamers.

While your sentiment is commendable, I really don't think netbooks will ever be used as even a "sometime" platform for gamers (besides MMORPG's, of course. :p ).

Windows 7 is being produced for use with netbooks- and ive read somewhere- this one in particular.
Windows 7 has a smaller footprint to vista but I dont think its going to be a very smooth ride on this little netbook.

? All games older than 2004 would run beautifully, emulation up to playstation 1, civ games up to 3, etc...
it is almost a gamers portable dream.

To anyone saying that you want the 330 in a netbook, you aint gonna get it unless you pay for vista, MS is saiyng that if the screen's over 10.2" or it's using a multi-core processor you can't get XP.

that doesn't make any sense, MS has ZERO control over Intel, and Asus originally put Linux on EeePCs ??? so what does Microsoft have to do with anything? That and why Vista?? wouldn't it be 7??

I was actually looking into buying a netbook and this one seems to be really nice. If this one doesnt come out soon i might go and buy the Lenovo netbook because it looks really sturdy and has a nice simple design.

Gimme a while and I'll find you it, this is what comes from spending 50 hours+ \searching for a netbook.
http://www.liliputing.com/2008/08/microsoft-starts-to-offer-windows-xp-ulpc-licenses.html
They're trying to get rid of XP since it's allowing the vista naysayers to give vista bad publicity.
7's not gone to retail yet and there's no way that a computer will be supplied with a beta as its only OS.

Yes, i understand 7 is in Beta, but set to release this year, also, no where in there did say anything about dual core processors. You could have a 1ghz dual core and it would fit the bill. Also, it seems more like Microsoft is pushing to take control of the netbook market, as its about the only place Linux is gaining headwind, and any ground gained/publicity is bad news for Microsoft, all it will really take is for people to SEE Linux. Lastly, the date was from August 08...... its not like this was enacted yesterday...... However, and its already apparent, via Sonys netbooks, wait, excuse me, their "lifestyle PC" lol, used Vista.... what a disaster. I'm not sure what Microsoft is trying to accomplish here, but this deal will only further trash talk about Vista. They should wait until 7, because it will run on lower end hardware.

7 will run on older hardware significantly better, I can't find anything stating that dual cores weren't allowed in them but I read that somewhere, either here or zdnet I think.

You are right about that, 7 will be a huge hit with netbooks. It would behoove them to make it more backwards compatible with windows xp programs, kind of like a dual kernel type of deal:laugh:

Wait a sec, wasn't that the whole point of 7 being a whole new OS? You've managed to confuse me now damn it! I thought they were meant to have a seperate kernel for XP and older stuff and stuff from vista onwards, pretty much just a modular OS, oh well.
