I didn't find any thread about it, so I'm giving you all gamers a tip:

3. You buy it, you keep it.

Don't let your DRMs turn into nightmares (clever, no?). You won't find any intrusive copy protection in our games; we hate draconian DRM schemes just as much as you do, so at GOG.com you don't just buy the game, you actually own it. Once you download a game, you can install it on any PC and re-download it whenever you want, as many times as you need, and you can play it without an internet connection.

Quite uncommon these days I must say.

If you liked the Bauldurs Gate games give all the ones a try for PS2, they are really fun co-op. A bit short on the story line, another good play on console would be Champions of Norrath. I never really got into the 2nd one, but me and Marineborn had played through the 1st one with our 2 Barbarians Hans and Frans probably like 10 times and we were really close to max level.

hanz was far better than frans except when it came to lava...LOL!!!

They are dirt cheap, I think Gamestop sells them for about $50 used or something. That or just check ebay. Nice thing about the PS2 is they still sell EXTREMELY well. It may not be top of the line, but even buying one of those there will be games coming out that you might be interested in.

Their games catalogue is pretty thin but they have some memorable titles. Freespace and Freespace 2 for around $10? Not bad. Myself I buy only retail boxed titles. When it comes to oldies like this I go to Amazon marketplace or eBay.com. Sometimes you can pick up an entire bundle of dozen or so retail boxed PC titles for like $5 to $10. However, as far as these download based services go, no intrusive DRM sounds good. People over at Steam should learn something from this.

Going through their catalogue I realized I probably own retail boxed copies of one third of their listed titles. At least one third.

True, but that doesn't mean that they are DRM free when they are downloadable.

I.e Painkiller black plus expansion (overdose) @ gog = 9.99 $

ONLY Painkiller Black @ steam 9.99€ (which =/= 9.99$)

GOG: Downloaded *.exe. Can install on multiple computers.

Steam: Must have client running, must be connected online. If steam goes down, you can't play.

Steam can be stupid, but you can always set it to offline mode to play your games without the internet.

Correct. That's why I posted this thread to begin with. I thought it was a great concept offering DRM free cheap games. Hell, they even have two free games.
