I'm going water cooling

I read every thread here on water cooling. And searched on google. I'm going to list parts that I'm thinking about getting and I'm hoping for some input. All I'm looking for to cool now is CPU.
But I'm also trying to look ahead in case I want to do video cards. so any help would be appreciated. :toast:

D-Tex Fusion V2 CPU Block
http://www.dtekcustoms.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=210

Bits Power Water Tank Z Plus reservior
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/6...ng_Reservoir_-_Tank_Z_Plus.html?tl=g30c97s166

Swiftech MCP655 Pump
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835108082

Danger Den- Black Ice GTX Xtreme 360 Rad
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/5...treme_360_Radiator_-_Black.html?tl=g30c95s161

Hopefully this is a good Start

Also would it be worth doing my North Bridge ? I would have to take parts off mother board.
My specs is what I'm wanting to water cool.

The Dtek Fusion v2 or the Apogee GTX is a better option. I'd also go with a Black Ice GTX or Thermochill rad. Good choice of pump and Res. Though you could get a Swiftech Micro res that will do the job nicely, and it's cheaper. The v2 is on sale at sidewinders. Here's a link:

I have had great experiences with my GTZ, but I am about to sell it. It's not a bad block by any means.

No, its a good block from what I've read, but I believe the Fusion v2 is a couple of degrees better, and generally you can find it cheaper.

What RPM fans do you plan on using with your rad? Silent/low RPM fans work perfectly with the swiftech rad, as well as the thermochill, but swiftech is more user-friendly. Also, I think a 3 fan radiator is overkill by a long shot for a 45nm Core 2 duo.
They are spec'd at 65W, and only give off about 150 OC'd like yours is. A Swiftech MCR 220 http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=3653
with fans in pull < 1350 RPM would be more than sufficient for your needs. Also the Fusion V2 is a very low restriction block, so a DDC3.2 pump would also suit you well.
PM me if you wanna discuss some WC fun =]

go for the 3 x 120 rad just because once you've had watercooling... wou will want to watercool EVERYTHING. Ive gone through 3 rads now, and wished i got the 3x120 to begin with.

Im so glad the gpu's are under water now... they are so much colder.

Yea Phanbuey I think your right :toast: Now I'm thinking about doing chipsets ( I'm trying to see if blocks are the same from Rampage extreme to Rampage X48 not having to much luck) But then I'm thinking of getting rid of my crossfire and just use the one video card and water that one. :D Starts out small and turns out big. I guess if your going to go for it you mine as well go all them way.

No wonder why my wife gives me shit. :D Dam alot of learning on water cooling. But this is the set-up which I'm going to try to match.

I would go for a Laing DDC 3.2 with an XSPC top instead.

It'll give you better performance in a smaller package.

And an XSPC RX360 for the rad. Which will give you excellent performance for a great price and not require high cfm fans to accomplish it.

OK after alot of reading, this is what I came up with. Hopefully this will be ass kicking.:)
Also later on I might do a video card. After/when I get next card. Which I'll probably just get a single or double rad and run a new loop. That would probably be the way to go. I THINK.

Just made my last order. Whats the good and bad ?

1) XSPC Reservior Top (Laing DDC) Petras
2) Laing DDC 3.2 18W Swiftech MCP355 Inline 12v Pump Petras
3) PTS Ultimate Radiator PTSURC-MC320 Combo MCR320 OP Edition with Yate Loon Med Petras
4) Swiftech MCB 120 Rad Box MCB120 Blk Rev2 Petras
5) 10 - G1/4 Fat Boy 1/2" fittings Danger Den
6) 15 Ft Primo Flex Pro LRT UV Red Tubing 3/8s Jab Tech
7) D-Tex V-2 CPU Block Side Winders
8) Bitspower Black Freezer Chipset Block Sidwinder

Am I missing anything ? :D

Thanks for all the help and threads :toast:

Okay got all my parts. Got a couple pics here. I think I took the pussy way out but this being my first time I decided to test outside my case.

First took everything apart and cleaned with distilled water and a soft toothbrush. Reassembled and hooked up out side the case. Been running now for four hours no leaks.

Dam is there an easy way to get 3/8 hose on 1/2 inch barbs ? What a pain in the ass. :banghead: ( I bought xtra hose so I could do this)

I'm assuming it dosent matter what side of rad you start with ?

Rad > CPU> Chipset > Rev > Rad Thats my loop that should be the best for my system right ?

Anyways heres pics so far. If something can be done better let me know. :D

full coverage water blocks will cool hot spots on a video card that a gpu coverage water block can't but because of the amount of surface they cover, tend to be more restrictive and reduce flow rate they are also more expensive and incompatible with other current or next generation video cards. a gpu coverage water block like the Swiftech MCW60* will cool the gpu more efficiently, it's inexpensive and is compatible with all current and next generation video cards (unless they change drastically) so what about the memory? it's not in trouble in fact the 4870 uses thermal pads so aluminum or copper in this case which has twice the thermal conductivity of aluminum will be more than enough.
