The orb isnt the best cooler for your money any longer to be honest. The SpinQ was a good performer but its really loud at full RPM.

Around $60? Almost everyone on this forum should be smiling at this point - for the best cooler for the money, go for the Xigmatek HDT-S1283. Will not fail to impress you, and I do believe they are under 60 dollars.

that or the achilles is it? runs on the XLF fans I have in my case at the minute - damn sexy white LED's through the orange frames.

DK and achilles are really close in temps but I personally find that black nickle to be next to sex as far as looks in a PC. Also has White LED's just a translucent black fram on this version.

I like both of the ones shown. I have 3 green led fans 1 blue and installing a blue cathode and uv cathode(Planning to sleeve psu with green UV sleeves). So i want to make sure it looks good in there.

You can't go wrong with a Xigmatek. I wouldn't buy any other heatsink honestly.

What I like about the white LED's is that it floods the mobo with light and I can see everything in there in the dark. Sorta like a showcase light.

Nice one Shadow you beat me to it...lol I forgot they made the newer version to include the i7 mounting hardware as well.

A word of caution.... dont touch the cooler too much if pssible use gloves. The black coating shows fingerprints and with the heat they will oxidize fast and look really bad. I have used Mothers wheel polish ( the kind mixed with a cotton in a can) and it can be polished to a shine if you get it all printed up.

I read that its best that the fan be pointing up or towards the back...i have mine pointing down and it seems to be cooling just fine is there a problem with having it face down?

only that you are blowing the CPU heat at the VGA and raising the temps of the card I think. If it can be installed facing the rear of the case this is ussually the best. That way the rear case fan can remove it from the case quickly.

Problem with facing it out the rear is the clip will only sit one way in the cooler...i guess i could try facing it towards the top but my case has no top exhaust...

and you are right my VGA is on fire(not literally)
