Lol dude wth, have you not been reading TPU news? That's a pretty ignorant comment despite the fact NVIDIA has already released the GTX285 and the GTX295,are they not new to you? Too busy living in a cave of ATI boxes? LOL

@Pabloc74 ATi is right infront of Nvidia playing punch for a punch, ATI will have a come back then Nvidia will have a come back same old same old.

Yes, the GTX275 is designed to outclass the 4890, and the 4890 is the same card with different clocks designed to outclass the GTX260...and the cycle continues. The 4890 isn't any newer than the GTX275.

And the release of new G92 cards under the new naming scheme was because there was no point in designing new mid-range cards, the G92 cards already fit that area nicely. However, nVidia wanted to use a unified naming scheme for their products.

If I was to comment on this thread it would look like that ^^

they're not only renaming cards now, they are cutting down existing cards and then making people think they are being renamed, like the new GTS130, many thought it was just a 9600GSO 192bit, but in reality to make a wider gap between their cards, nvidia cut the shaders from 96 to 48 and gave it ddr2 on the same 192bit bus, which is horrible, so if you liked folding with the 8800GS and the 9600GSO, don't buy this one, they killed it to force people to buy their higher end cards in my opinion.

Keep in mind, that confusing the customers is a great strategy for making lots of money. NVIDIA is clever, but crafty.

It all just boils down to doing your homework, and making informed, educated decisions on your purchases. Those who purchase based on marketing hype get what they deserve.

Keep in mind, n00bs don't do their homework, and read an ad in a magazine about NVIDIA being 1337, go out, look for the biggest number, IE "OMG this 9600gt has like 2gb ram, it must be good!" and then buy it. That's why NVIDIA will always win.

I actualy don't see a problem with that PVT. As long as they pay the correct amount for that card.

Well I just wanted to know where is nvidia goin!!

Nowhere, it's here to stay.

renaming old cards to new ones and then again the new Gtx275?....
There are mixed views on the "renaming old cards to new ones" part. Some say it is confusing, though ironically, the same group that makes these allegations comprises of individuals who are smart enough to make out if something is rebadged. My view is that as long as NVIDIA is being honest with pricing the cards, it should not affect anyone. It's not like it is asking its partners to sell 8800GT at say $120, and 9800GT at $140. Each rebadged SKU is staying at the price-point it's "predecessor" is staying at.

Regarding the GTX 275, no, it's not a rebadged SKU. Its specs don't match those of any other GTX 200 GPU.

Now its just trying to come up with same cards but just different clocks to face upto ATI For the new 4890 etc...

When the HD 4890 does come out, you will see exactly to what extant rebadging SKUs is institutionalized, and how both ATI and NVIDIA indulge in it.

why cant they come up with sumthing new?

It takes money (research and development) to come up with something new. If they can keep the existing architecture, keep providing performance increments facilitated by new manufacturing technologies, and also passing on the benefit of reduced manufacturing costs to you the consumer, then it's doing a pretty good job being a GPU vendor.

NVIDIA has the GT21x series 40 nm GPUs in development.

Then there is their gtx100 series??? I dnt think there was any need for it! I Guess Nvidia is completely losting and pullings its hair to just show ATI a sensless point!
P.S Dnt pick out mistakes not best at english! :D

There is no GTX100. There's a GTS 100, and G100 series. The objective is to give us a simple naming scheme. The 65 nm G9x GPUs were intended to make the GeForce 9 series, and the 55 nm G9x, its successors. The GTS200/100/G100...will be characterized by the 55 nm GPUs.

after thinking about it the new gts130 is not a 9600gso, in reality it must me a 9600gt with 1 memory cluster removed which would effectively make it have 12 rops and 192bit with 48sp instead of 256bit and 64 sp,

just like they did to the gts512 gpu's to make them ready for the gs's and gso's

Nvidia is running out of ideas, which is why they are just leeching off of technologies they bought or developed. ATI is finally a mainstream competitor now that they have looked at what consumers want the most, and soon to be VIA and S3 as well. This is all because they are pushing every sector of their brains in order to find a breakthrough that the public can finally lay eyes about. Like this article:

http://www.techpowerup.com/87830/Ne...raphics_-_Breaks_Barriers_in_3D_Graphics.html

I guess Nvidia has gone corrupted with financial power :(

Well its not that they are running out of new ideas its that why make a new gpu when an older gpu can be used to fit the purpose. It would be a waste of money to create an entirely new card that had similar performance. Also its not bad because if they are selling it at the correct market price no one loses.

Damn right, the only time it will be concerning is if DX11 comes out from nowhere:laugh:
