Anyone have any idea how a GTX 275 would scale with my CPU @ 1680 x 1050?

Looking to upgrade my videocard as I've recently got a new monitor which is 1680 x 1050 resolution. My 9800GT is actually performing admirably but I just want to raise the bar a bit. So anyone have any clue if my CPU would scale alright with the 275? Any help much appreciated as its a big purchase for me . Thanks

i think you would be fine with your current cpu, maybe if you clocked it a bit higher it would be better tho

It will go higher but takes alot more voltage and the heat generated just isnt worth it for that extra 200MHz

For gaming you'd be solid, benching you'd probably be somewhat degraded without higher cpu clocks. But that 275 would be a beast in your build. 3Ghz is pretty prime speed for a solid gaming rig in my opinion, I usually recommend an OC to around 3-3.2, up to 3.6...but in reality I notice a very small decrease in frames going from 3.6 to the stock 2.4 on my quad, similar with my e8600 from 4.5 to 3.3. I game at the same rez with a 216 core GTX260 OC'd not much further beyond a GTX275's stock speed with more shaders, that card will kick ass. In some tests in W1z's review it beats a GTX280!

TBH I guess I could run to a nice air cooler as well for a minimal overclock at nicer temps. Would compliment my 275 even more, any nice air coolers you could suggest? Kursah, thats good to know mate thanks for the info.

If you can get ahold of a Scythe Ninja or any Xigmatek coolers, that would be the way to go.

I'd get the card and not worry about CPU limitations. You could get a better CPU or larger monitor later...

Well visually from my HD4850 - GTX275 the difference is huge (apart from my psu problems)

I can't get your system specs to show, what CPU you got? If it's a quad core at 3GHz or a dual core faster then 3GHz, you're ok.

How did it change visually ? explain
I'm not making fun , i'm considering upgrading to eighter a powerfull single GPU or a crossfire but i don't seem to find a game that needs all that power , crysis games are boring and not worth the trouble after you finish them , so how did it change visually with your GTX275 ?

Barring any kind of driver issue/defective card I don't get it. I prefer the color/sharpness from my 4670 over my GTX 260. :ohwell:
