does no one ever play bf 2142 or is somethng wrong twith my game?

ive installed it all right with the game spy thing my turnd of all anti-virus an firewall an got a legit code for online play but it wont show any servers at all does noone ever play this game at all or have i done something wrong? i dnt no what info you guys will need to help but ask for it and ill supply it to the best of my skill cheers guys

I think CoD 4 might have stolen its spotlight seeing as it was everything battlefield 2 was supposed to be. There should be a server somewhere though. Did you check that the game was searching for internet servers and not local servers?

Many people still play this game. I was online only days ago. You need patch 1.5 to play on any server.

Dont forget to install PBsetup from EvenBalance and after the game has loaded and optimized shaders you need to defrag your HDD to get the smoothest performance.

If you don't have the expansions you might see as many servers as well. I stopped playing because all of the servers went to the expansion pack... and I wasn't paying $20 for like 3 maps and a stupid vehicle... no dice

Almost everyone got over Norther Strike pretty fast. I got it for the extra upgrades and 90% of the servers in my list are now on regular maps.

well theres a good 20 servers when i just came off an mines just the normal first edition one no expansion's, it works by the way

i updated it, i keep gettin thrown off games tho, or at least im guessin thats whats happen i just go to the lobby bit an a box saying punk buster comes up with no writin ill defrag ma hdd an see if thats it, or they must see a newbie an kick me off oh well i died twice an killed five before i got bord of gettin kicked of every five min

I believe that gets solved with a reinstall of Punkbuster, as Triptex suggested. I had the same issue if I recall.

yea fully patched up an it picks up the servers fine just kicks me of a game after 5 min,

ill up-date pb seperatly el fiendo an see if that helps i dnt have time tonight to defrag my hdd its late here but if i still get problems ill do that tmoz

It uses gamespy and punkbuster.

Gamespy is more of a matchmaking service though. A shit one at that.

You must download and run PBsetup.exe.... Add BF2142 to the list of games and select "Update"

PBsetup will update PB files for BF2142 and you wont get kicked anymore.

BF2 is way superior to CoD4.

BF2 is also way superior to BF 2142 and this is why BF2 remains one of the most popular online shooters even after all this time.

I bought BF2142 as soon as it came out, but found it lacking in so many departments compared with BF2. BF 2142 Never became as hugely popular as its predecessor did.
