Ways to improve PC performance

What tweaks can you do to your PC on the OS level to improve performance? What background processes can I turn off in task manager without affecting stability?

google vlite - and rip out all the junk you dont need.

Wow, this one is very nice so far. I just turned off system restore, and got 40gb of my disk space back.
I'll check out the others as well.

You should disable hibernation if you dont use it too, It gave me another 4/5GB.

Open command (press sstart and type cmd, press enter) and type/paste this:

powercfg -h off

You can also disable the page file (ass you have 4GB RAM) to free up more HDD space, but you'll have to delete the 4GB file manually in the C drive
