Hard drive partitioning

I seem to recall, many moons ago, a hard drive partitioning program, that could partition a hard drive without having to reformat it. What would the best program to use be?

Right it used to be Partition Magic but the only software that is standard and up to date now is the Acronis suite.

I partition during a windows install...granted I only format the OS partition during that setup, format the other partition(s) after OS install. Works fine fore me, XP and Vista installs both have worked fine for years doing this, otherwise, Partition Magic does the trick.

Just FYI, since I meant to mention this in my original post, the Disk Management inside of Vista will allow you to change partition sizes without lossing the data on the drive, but it isn't as good as Acronis. Though it is free if you already have Vista.

I remember having Powerquest's Partition Magic ages ago.

Norton bought Powerquest and did not update Partition Magic since. Their loss.

XP has the same disk management program.

XP had a different version that does not allow changing of partition sizes. The XP version is very limitted.
