Oh, and until I get my Wii WiFi fixed, anything online is pretty much unbareable. I might give it a try but I got to fix that first.

Had it. Sold my Wii, it didn't see much use. Although the game was very fun when I was actively playing it.

It is kind of a fun game but Nintendo have implemented measures from preventing it being a great game such as the blue shell weapons and the fact that those behind the pack get endowed with arsenal on a par with the US military.

Indeed, one of the the best ways to win on Mariokart is to stay kind of to the back until the last lap at which point you will be inundadted with lighting strikes, blue shells, reusable mushrooms etc etc.

Could have been great, but Nintendos desire to reach the 'family' market left the game a bit nooby for my liking. It might be fun for 20 minutes at an X-Mas party if Auntie Ethel can compete with or even beat little Timmy on Mariokart Wii (thanks to the game rewarding her copious weaponry for her spastic thumbs with the gamepad), but for people who game as a full time hobby, this is simply not on.

Heh, it is incredibly frustrating to be 3 seconds from the finish line only to get hit by a blue shell and finish in 7th. At the same time, I understand why it is there. The farther back you are, the more dangerous you become to those in front of you. That causes the positioning to change rapidly and quite frequently. Even if you are in a distant first place, you haven't won until you won. If you're in last place, you're not necessarily doomed to finish in last place like you were in say, Super Mario Kart (SNES).
