i7 RAM performance / price / 3DMark 06

Well, I am looking for an affordable 6gb kit of DDR3 RAM... Price range? ~120$ max

Now first my question is, how much does RAM (speed and timings) affect a 3D mark 06 score?

Next is that this RAM will be OCed... so considering that, what is the best option? Also, are MIRs trustable?

I know for sure that the Crucials and SuperTalents are great OCers, so I'll include thoses first:

Indeed... all OCZs xD but they seem good price/performance after MIRs... I know they aren't the favorite company for many, but all prejudices aside please

Crucials are guaranteed Micron chips. I like mine

Prices aren't bad either and ordering from Crucial directly is easy as pie.

Personally I wouldn't get OCZ's after their problems with badly programmes SPD's in their DDR2 series. Especially since that isn't their first problem with badly finished products (Core SSD's, NIA).

Yea, I linked those OCZ in the OP... They seem great! but should I trust their MIR?

I'm running them at their stock values 1600-8-8-8-21-1T which is getting pretty good ram speed as it is. I just bought them for what they had to offer from the start. I did try to OC them a bit, but they seemed unstable, so I leave at stock value.

Filling all slots make OCing hard... use only 3x1gb when you'll OC... and don't forget that VRam has to be at most .5V difference with Vcore...

Tell me how they OC when you get the rig together and we'll see if it is worth upgrading RAM or not....

The crucials are your best bet for the price. I'd include Super Talent in the mix, but the CL7 Micron sticks that I had are no longer available. You'd end up with non-hyper IC's, which are good, but not quite as good as the Crucials. Right now, I'm running the 1866 Reapers in my main rig, which will clock 2000mhz, on 1.65v with very loose timings.
