Not to dodge your question but comparing standard contrast ratios is a better indicator of picture quality.

A standard contrast ratio basically means how many shades of gray there are between complete "black" and bright "white" on the pixels on that screen.

With LCD's complete black is not as "black" as on a plasma due to backlighting (the black still glows and lights the room).

LCD's are getting a LOT better on this issue then they use to be an it is vastly improving over time.

A larger standard contrast ratio means a more dynamic picture quality with the light shading capabilities.

The deal with contrast ratios is that although it is a very important statistic the numbers given by manufacturers can be almost totally discarded. As always higher the better, but there is no standard across companies and the numbers they list are often in unrealistic conditions. Still, like I said, bigger the better, find pro reviews if you want the real skinny on black levels. DFC is most likely just a marketing tool, as is the 50k number.

around 250$ CAD, so would i see any ghosting with this monitor?

Absolutely not. Well I can't say anything for sure, but I'd give it a very very low probability. Biggest thing I'd worry about here is bleeding, but it won't be anything major (top and bottom will be slightly illuminated). No ghosting or anything though, fairly good color and contrast. For gaming it would suffice nicely.

Problem is that i cant seem to find a 20-21 inch monitor with a contrast ratios higher then 1000:1, or is 1000:1 more then i realy need, i never play in the pitch dark also, i mean just how overatted is contrast ratio?
