hi,

just wondering which cards I should use???,

I have sitting under my desk X2 7600GTs and in my rig a single 7900gt, what do you guys think??

I think the 7900gt might perform better but I'm not certain. If you have an SLI motherboard why not test it for yourself?

i have to agree with mandelore, your best bet is to sell the 2 7600gts and buy another 7900gt. Having those in sli will be a very fun experience.

Would the difference be noticable at that res??.

Selling a 7600 SLI package definately will bring you some nice $$$ performance. And also, 1280x1024 will be just enough for all the games you'll play. 1360x1024 actually, if you need perfect 4:3 ratio to your monitor.

LCD's aren't 4:3 aspect ratio, they are 4:5. so that's why they are 1280x1024...but yeah, you should sell the 2 7600GTs for a price that a 7900GT would be, then SLI. All games should run great and smooth especially at 1280x1024.

Amen to that....I have a 7600gt (I love it)but a 7900 would be very nice, I do think you should sell your two 7600gt's and go with a 7900, then save up for another.

Already have 1 7900GT, I am just wondering what to do, get another 7900GT, or sell that and put the 7600GTs back in.

The 7900GT plays....BF2 say, I can put all graphical options to high with X4AA(I usually play med settings with a couple of high with X4AA) and it runs mostly >30FPS but does drop just below that. I take it with a second 7900 I will never see the FPS drop below 30 with high settings.

Have you maybe considered part exchanging the cards, maybe where you got them from or another place may take both them off your hands and exchange them or at least give you a discount

Im not sure about the aspect ratio, but the max native display is definatly 1280x1024.

Thanks for all the replys folks, I think im gonna try and sell the 7600gt and get another 7900gt.

X1950XTX is coming out very soon. It should be more powerful than a 7900GT...but I'm not sure about 2 7900GTs. However, the image quality will be better than any Nvidia product. So, if image quality is a deciding factor...then yes, sell everything and go with the x1950XTX.

I don't go for all these silly arguments, ive had both cards and noticed little if any difference in the image quality. I had a 6800 and an X800 at the same res quality settings there was hardly any difference. I usually go for the best priced product.
