WTF is ACC?

I've googled and looked around here and I cant seem to find a clear answer as to what ACC "Advanced Clock Calibration" is. Currently it is turned off in my BIOS but I would like a clear explanation of what it is and how it could effect my OC.

I think it changes the clocks between each core... not sure, and that article is a year old.

I read the article and it was not very helpful.

Finally a clear answer. Basically not having ACC turned on in the "+" I have been hampering my OC. No wonder I couldn't get past 3.45 @1.44v

Yep, article says that even though AMD is hesitant to say it, they kinda hinted that you could get another 200MHz out of your CPU with it, or undervolt better.

ACC is for Phenom I's, Phenom II's have ACC built in, the only good ACC will do for a PII is trying to bug out a tri core or a dual core into turning into a quad.

what does ACC even do? in my bios there are options for +2% to +12% and the same in negative... what does this do?

Yep, make sure ACC is OFF when your working with Phenom II's. It has no positive effect on Phenom II's, it may actually hinder your max OC if its on with a Phenom II.

Really? I thought ACC still works with PII. In MailMan's case it may actually be beneficial since he seems to be suffering from a core that doesn't want to clock as high as the others. ACC is basically the ability to raise or lower the voltage to a particular core up to .4 volts. Using ACC to add voltage to the bad core should help with a bigger and a more stable overclock.

I should correct myself as it seems it's a bit more complex than that. I have however seen several people with X4 955's that claim setting it to +2 for all core gives them about 200mhz more overclock. I'm going to test this on my x3 720 now.
