Is there a big drop in SSD prices coming?

I'm temped to buy a Corsair P128, but the price is a major deciding factor, is there a drop in the horizon? :confused:

I just got one, and let me say...it was worth every penny. Put it into my Current system just to try it out, however it's meant for my new I7 based rig which is pending due to a bad mobo.

Good news is, if you get it from newegg and the price drops within a few days(or hours, my case) they will most likely compensate you for some, if not all of the difference. Just give em a call.

I dont see a drop in the price over the next 60 days. The only drops I would forcast would be the cheaper Vertex's sub $200 range. The upper end Intel's wont drop considerably for a good year.

ok intels new ssd's out on tuesday they will have 33% drop in price over the current ones...

this will in turn FORCE other manufacturers to have to cut prices... give it a month and there will be some diff in the prices

There will be no price cuts. Intel will drop their prices closers to other makers, ie. Intel will cut their price premium they've been charging for the small performance advantage. SSD prices follow NAND prices and unless the chips become cheaper prices will stay as they are.

Yea but if intel does that there products won't be in-line with the other offerings, depending on the product they should still be slightly better. I don't think you'll see a 33% drop all around, however the drive I bought for 345$, I could see around 280 by the end of the year.
