Not related to the thread but your post was way off topic.

From the link:

When high level antialiasing was enabled (8x), the card slowed down a bit more than the AMD counterparts with the same 1 GB amount of memory, which we take to imply that at higher resolution, a similar performance drop might occur that would put the RADEONs back in the lead.

That should set things straight.

okay but.. nvidia and ati uses different speed on objects in the 3d image and renders the angels of the 2d to the 3d in there own "feel" of the real world .. so have any one got an objective mind on what of the 2 cards got the most "reel" feeling of the real world at hand..?

What? No, the both render whatever the engine calls for. Distances and speed never differ, the only things that differ are the quality of the image. To that I say, I prefer ATI, but it isn't necessarily better than NVidia. But still, this discussion doesn't really belong in this thread.

Have you tried increasing the speed of your GPUs and GDDR3 RAM?

Nice score but you should be able to crank out at least 2 thousand more points with a little work on the over clocking.

ive been working on these gpus for quite some time, anything over 665/1035 even with fan speeds at 100% on a cold morning still results in a system crash :S they suck for overclocking lol, with the latest 9.8 suite from ati ive managed to hit 20400 with stock gpus 650/1000

In a state of flux...

PII 945ES @ 3.82GHz 1.47v (Water) - Crossfire 4870 1GB @ 850/1000 & 790/1100 (Stock Air)

1400~ slower than my E8400 @ 4.75GHz....higher clocks on the PII would help more.

Give them more CPU speed and they do even better:

E8500 @ 4.75GHz (Air - HDT1283 + 2x110cfm Scythes) - Crossfire 4870 1GB @ 750/900 (Stock Air)

CPU-z didnt detect the cards correctly, I reinstalled it and it worked fine....14GB/s bandwidth would be mighty. :)

haha of course 2x4870's at 4890 speed with gddr5 is gonna score better than 4850's with of course gddr3 which are running at stock. this is a score with some memory and nb tweaks but cards at stock 650/1000 if i had your cards at those speeds i'd love to see the score my system would get. look at ur sm2.0 and sm3, nice.

My Q8200 @2.8Ghz and MSI HD4850 without any mod and completely Stock except the Clock: 735/1080 :twitch:

715/993: 3DMark Vantage. Just for fun, I'll post the highest soon. This is just some test I did last few day, the newest is 8191 at GPU Score but without CPU-Z and GPU-Z :D

Thinking about new HSF for both CPU and VGA, and I'm sure I'll be able to get some extra points.
