Leadtek designed a new simple, low-cost graphics accelerator based on the GeForce GTS 250 graphics processor. The GTS 250 v2 comes in a compact, yet fully capable form-factor. It has a short PCB, a GPU cooler that spans its entire length, and clock speeds that adhere to NVIDIA's reference speeds, at 738/2200 MHz (core/memory), and comes in 512 MB and 1 GB variants. Its cooler comprises of a GPU block from which three aluminum heatpipes convey heat to a dense aluminum fin array, with a fan nested in the center. The card's VRM and memory come with heatsinks, and are cooled under the fan's airflow. The card requires a single 6-pin PCI-Express power connector. The card is 3-way SLI capable with other GeForce GTS 250 accelerators. Leadtek may price these on the lower side of the spectrum, where they provide good value.

If they can get them sub-$100, they have a winner on their hands.

Green PCB is bleurgh

+1
I had a few of the GTS250s and they were excellent cards, being shorter and having the single power plug makes them even better.

I know it sounds silly but I bet if the PCBs were black they would sell double the cards.

exactly. anyone that says these cards look good must either be running a green themed system or be an idiot. Its fine if they get slapped into htpc's or tucked away, but in a nice system they will just look nasty.

Agreed, but there are plenty of other cards if you are going for looks.

These are meant to be budget cards, not nice looking.

They work in all but my main rig, as only my main rig has a window. When you're on a budget, making your computer look nice is stupid. Buy a $25 case, and spend the money on performance.

I find it kinda funny that i tried selling a Leadtek 9800GTX+ almost exactly like this for about 50 off retail price and nobody bit but now its an excelent card cause of shorter PCB and single power.

Yours was/is an excellent card also, but I've found it is getting harder and harder to sell used hard hardware. I'm guessing it is getting harder and harder to sell it brand new also, with the current economy. I'm trying to sell two DangerDen acrylic cases for $100 off retail each, and free shipping, and I haven't even seen a nibble...

Well i was selling this when GTX280 was top end and 9800GTX+ card was a very nice card to have at a decent price. Nobody wanted it cause of odd design and where skeptical over single power. Oh well its long gone now, just kinda pisses me off that now this comes out and its hot. I kinda miss my XFX 9800GTX+ Black Edition though.

I wish they'd come out with something like this a little sooner. Now this may get overshadowed by the DX11 cards due to hit soon.

You could make a pretty kickass tri-SLI, small footprint setup with this card and the Coolermaster Elite 360. It will accept a full-size PSU and ATX mobo but only 8" cards if the PCIe power connector is in the standard location (backside of vid card). The case will fit 9" cards if the PCIe power connector is on the side of the vid card. This Leadtek card looks even shorter than 8 inches.

Maybe you don't have enough heatware feedback? idk I haven't had trouble. One of my recent FS threads sold multiple items in under 6 hours. I have had a few threads taking a week to square away payment on [H] though. People are getting more paranoid really. If they see a great deal and very established heatware they still buy. :toast:

You are cool guy so they probably just don't know you well enough I guess.

when will the cockaroach that we all love, the G92 finally rest in peace?

Think of the G92 as a lab created ruby. Looks great and cheap. But soon enough it will not look good enough for the enthusiast crowd and they will move on. A cockroach would be 2900 series ATI. Eats power and is too weak for new games.

this is really nice to see imo, 8800GTX+ class performance and its that small .... wow.

I would'nt be surprised if Nvidia tested 40nm on a G92(c ) it would make for great low power chips tho.

i thought they had got the g92's power draw down so they didnt need more power than the slot????

or is that just palit?

would make more sense to me if this was the same tbh.

My sales have been doing fine really. Maybe you haven't been listing them enough places .... or the right places?

You are cool guy so they probably just don't know you well enough I guess.

Well I only list here and [H], and I'm not well known at [H] as I almost never post. I think my post count is under 100 there...

I think the big issue is that one is $300 new and the other is $200. People just aren't up for spending that kind of money right now. Even after I dropped the prices to $200 and $100. Especially not on specialized things like Acrylic cases. You have to find the right person to buy one of those.

Oh look, a GTS250.
What is this, 2008?

In about one month HD5700s will hit the market at $100 replacing HD4700s while outperforming HD487/90. Bye bye G92.

The HD5700's aren't going to be out for a good while. We will see the HD5800s this year, but that is it. The mid-range cards always take a while to come out after the high end. Look at RV770 and RV730. RV730 came out over 3 months after RV770. The same was true with RV670 and RV635.

So don't get your hopes up for a $100 HD5700 any time soon. And even then, they will release the HD5600 series first, which if history repeats, will be rather crappy, and fail to even outperform the previous generations cards(the HD4670 didn't even outperform an HD3850, the HD3650 didn't even outperform the HD2900GT). So we are looking at the HD5600 series being close to HD4850 performance, probably a little less actually...and you know what else is similar to HD4850 performance? The GTS250...

I could be totally wrong, and the HD5000 series mid-range could totally kick ass, but that hasn't been the case in the past, and I doubt it will be the case now.

i thought they had got the g92's power draw down so they didnt need more power than the slot????

or is that just palit?

would make more sense to me if this was the same tbh.

In the full configuration, I don't think any company has managed to get the G92 to the point where it will run off a just the slot. In the cut down forms(9800GT) they have though.
