Hi guys, well I have a ST3500320AS 7200.11
SN: 9Qm4ELHC
OLD bios: SD15 updated to SD1A
Well.... yesterday or a little before it I started to have some issues when trying to access folders with a large number of files (photos, videos).... well... sometimes it was slow to access them and other time it was normal.
Today I couldn't even access it, windows gave the "format" message....
I checked and my HD was with a blacklisted firmware from seagate, so I updated it to SD1A, update was fine, but still the same problem.....
The hard drive had 2 partitions, 1 with 40gb and the other with the left space....
the 40gb was working fine, but it was getting harder and harder to gain access to the big partition..... when finally, now, the hard drive can't be even detected on BIOS....
It does power up and spin up.... but bios can't detect it....
Then I switched sata port, and there it was again.... but still the same problem...
There's a strange sound like it was the "click of death" but it isn't quite similar to it.....
Well I saw a lot of guys with problems like this.... but it seems that all of them were overnight... mine was gradually increasing......
Is it dead ? Or it might be the old 7200.11 family problem and the CAT42 cable solution can work ?
Well, I lost everything.... photos, music, films..... a lot of precious stuff that I'm not willing to give up.
Switching the HD PCB with another one, of the same HD model, might work ?
Well.. I'm very sad with it.... I really lost a lot of memories of my personal life ATM.....
