mmm... seems about right i got 12k at preset with a C2D 8400 @ 3.6ghz and a 4830 @730/1120, if you oc your quad to 3ghz and that 4890 at over 900 core youd get like 14 - 14.5k in 3dmark.

your memory needs set to unganged and try 5-5-5-15 timings

I'll under clock my system but I think you should be about 1000 higher

and here is my system set as close to yours as i can get it

He hasnt OC'd anything, thats his stock timings most likely, he could tighten timings and OC it if he wanted a higher score, but he might not want to OC. That score sounds about dead on for a non-OC'd setup though.

No I just ran 3dmark06 at 2.5ghz with a 4830...he should be about a 1000 higher than that

I think once you add another 2gb you should get it up to 14000
and without an OC..... That chip of yours runs great at stock Voltage and sometimes lower Voltage at 2.6ghz that's a .5 increase on the Multi...(the 9950 was basically just re-labled 9850's)

Oh yeah if you have not already or if it's not a default, set ACC to Auto
Edit: yeah that's a good idea...
Here is as close to you setup as I can get...without taking out some memory

You should check your memory model and set the timings accordingly. There not all the same.

My OCZ run at 4-4-4-15 2T (unganged)

You have a PII 920, clock for clock thats a superior processor, you would probably have to go to 2.3 or 2.4 for it to be close.

Back when I had a 9850 with a single 3870 and the 9850 at 3.2ghz I only got 11.6k. And I got like 11.1k with 2x 3870's and the 9850 at stock. So his 4890 score is about right being that nothing is OC'd.

Considering you have a quad and your 4890 1GB is better than my 8800GT 512MB I'd say it's a tad low...

I got 13174, only with my E8400 @ 4Ghz but with 8800GT 512MB.

I neglected to notice the amount of memory he had at first but he was still about 500 lower than he should be, I think once he can get another 2gb (which I think 4gb is very important to game in Vista) He should be at about 13.7k. I had a 9850 before this cpu on a 780g mobo with a 4830 and i was getting around 12.6k, and trust me the 920 is not that much better than the 9850

I no you don't feel a need to OC but that chip does like to run at 2.6ghz and it can do it easily with the stock cooler ACC on auto and everything else at stock, and remember Vista eats a lot of your resources so more mem always helps,( 4gb for gaming 8gb for video editing )
BTW that is a very nice setup for gaming:)

I am going to do it just when i get a new motherboard right now i think something is up wit this one as it already takes too long to install the O/S (Vista took about an hour and a half) and 7 didn't install at all.
