MP4Nation's latest addition to their in-ear lineup is dubbed the Beta Brainwavz. Made by MP4Nation under their Nationite brand these in-ears are geared towards everyday listeners looking for a decent set of affordable in-ears. Competitively priced these definitely seem like an affordable way into the in-ear realm.

So Vs the CX500 AKG324P and Creative EP830's would you say these headphones are similar in performance to these Frederick.

I have not heard the AKG in-ears, and I only had listened to the CX500s are couple of times so I cannot really comment precisely on the performance against the Beta same goes for the Creative EPs (but these are basically the same Fostex in-ears as the CX-series from Sennheiser if I remember correctly).

They are a bit similar in the sense they all are slightly laid back with a warm midrange. If I recall correctly the bass is more bloated on the CX-series in-ears, but midrange is slightly less mushy. This is solely based on how I recall the CX in-ears performing in a sub optimal listening environment (ie. noisy school classroom). To be fair I think the CX-series are overpriced, but ultimately one tier above the Betas in terms of overall sound. The price is also almost 3x that of the Betas. Besides that I am defintely not a fan of the in-line attenuator on Sennheiser in-ears and buds, had the MX500s which are alright by all means but that little pot sure gets noisy after a while.

I hope this makes sense just got home from the gym, and I am pretty busted...

Setting up a custom EQ can help with some of the Betas weaknesses : ]

Just like using different speakers you may have to use a different EQ to get the best of them.

I have to say it is finally nice to see some great quality in ear ear buds that are awesome with the sound and bass but don't cost an arm and a leg. Thanks Fred.

Raz plans to release other head phones in the Brainwavz range.

Same sort of naming system.

He has Alpha and Beta at the moment.

We've been trying to push him for audiophille quality in ears, so hopefully with any luck Gamma will be next up :D
