DVI & HDMI Image Quality Consistent

Quick question:

Although I'd like to test it myself first, I am looking for the most economical way to run 2 digital displays from a fanless PCIe card. I had previously been ordering Zotac 9500 dual-dvi cards for $50/ea or more and even buying separate adapters these should be significantly cheaper assuming image quality is consistent between the two. Is that a safe assumption?

Image quality should be the same from both sources, as it is the same signal. I'd say go for it.

i second that. the interface of a fully pinned dvi is identical to hdmi, the biggest difference is how the display uses the signal you're connecting your the source to. most hdmi display will take advantage of presence detect and other features like the audio stream

The image quality is the same, the only difference is HDMI carries sound with it. DVI is straight video.
