[WTB][EU] windows xp os for netbook

Full Story
heres the long story my ex's mum had some windows xp disk's for her netbook which i borrowed for my dads nes pc i was building. That was a while ago an i split up with my x and now her mum is asking for the disks back, fair enough, only problem is i have seemed to miss placed them. So im looking to pick up a windows xp disk for cheap. Ive done searches around an there not too procey only she needs the slimed down version for her netbook and that is rather harder to find. so do you guys no where i can pick on up?

AFAIK, there isn't a special slimmed down version for netbooks, it is just standard Windows XP Home. Now the manufacturer of her netbook might have made their own special version, but Microsoft themselves doesn't make a special slimmed down version.

The main thing is you need to make sure you get the correct version that matches her product key, you can't use any XP disc with any product key. And as I said, most netbooks came with XP Home. I think you can order a replacement disc from Microsoft directly for free, or maybe a small shipping charge, or at least you used to be able to.

ACTUALLY there IS a special customized version of XP for netbooks. Contact your OEM who made your netbook and ask for a recovery disk, and they will send you a copy of the special XP you need.

ok guys will do so i take it this slimed version isnt easily available through retail, its only shipped with the actual netbooks themselves ? either way ill contact them and try to sort it out, thanks again

i have no idea to both your questions, i was toled that it was a slimmed down version for netbooks, i could have been wrong an it was just the salesman of the end of the phone tryin to flog it

OEMs never subtract from a Windows install base - they add to it via crapware =/ All the netbooks I have seen got normal XP Home or 7 on them unless it was replaced by the end user.
