Hey I was thinking about getting a gaming laptop and I have stumbled upon 3 different laptops. My question is do you think I can do better off of different sites or even not get neither of these three at all.

The toshiba one you linked is relly cheap, but quite big. If you dont mind the size, that is. Kurosagi, 4570 is nowhere near the power of the graphics card on the laptops he suggested, and I am fairly sure he wants something powerful.

I am saying since he has a gaming pc he shouldn't really bother having a super power gaming laptop if you know where im getting at?? if he blowed more money on a laptop than his desktop then he might aswell get rid of his desktop and buy a super high-end laptop.

Thats where im getting,for me for example i got a mid-range gaming rig so i only bought a laptop for £300 to use for school and really light gaming like CSS,killing floor and L4D.

Yes i agree the 4570 is no match for a GTX260M but i'm only saying he might aswell spend the extra $400 on improving his desktop or something and spend less on a laptop to game on.

exactly ^^ a gaming laptop is an oxymoron get the rig Kuro pointed out and save some cash the desktop rig u have will play everything for the timing being and that laptop will allow for decent gaming on the go.

point is tho gaming and on the go + laptop is retarded at least the rig Kuro pointed out wont be starved for power as most higher end laptops just dont have the battery power to fully use the gpu so unless your hooked to a wall socket with the laptop that high end gaming laptops wont do much good. after all isnt the point of a laptop to have mobile computing?? id take the 4570 and go with it fun games like Half Life 2 L4D etc will run fine

If you're not in a hurry, you could wait 1-2 months for the mobile 5000 series from ati. That plus a decent arandale or a P series C2D should hold up for quite some time

take note that cpus used in each test usually are not the same so that has a large impact as well as OS and ram amount but on average

the 4570 can handle Fear Fear2 L4D Oblvion Doom3 CSS etc etc

That Asus G51 with the P8700 is the best gaming laptop you listed.

However, has HalfAHertz said, it would be wise to wait a couple of months for the Mobility 5000 series.

The G92 is over 2 years old, and in a couple of months there'll be cheaper and lower power DX11 GPUs for laptops with similar performance.

Seeing as the HD5650 with slow DDR3 matches a 96-shader GTS250M, a HD5670 with GDDR5 should have the same performance as the GTX260M, with the addition of DX11 and longer battery life.

I absolutely disagree with everyone saying gaming laptops are useless. I have both a gaming desktop (albiet not awesome but still a gaming desktop) and a gaming laptop (asus G50) and I use both on a regular basis. It annoys me to no end that people cant see a reason to be able to play games somewhere other than thier desk without having to lug around your desktop. Going over to your friends house for a lan and he has limited space? Gaming laptop. There are a million more reasons, but they're not even worth explaining because if you have any shred of imagination you can think of them on your own.

I'll stand by the ASUS laptops till the day I die. i have the Asus G50-vt x1 and I love it. My friend also has that same qosmio, and since its a bit cheaper (it used to be hecka expensive) if youre looking to save some money, it performs reasonably similar to mine which has a 9800Mgs instead of the 9700m. If you want to save some money, go with the qosmio, however it is indeed VERY big. Almost twice as thick as the Asus. If you want to spend a bit more and get something more powerful (those have the 260m which i would think is at least a little more powerful than my 9800m) go with the asus. They are all three very good laptops, at great prices for what you get.

Another option,cheaper too and your rig be on the move with you,and if you do have car you can also transport your monitor,keyboard and mouse and then just buy a 2.0 speakers,that is if you need a desktop for "uni" if not then go with laptop,its a suggestion.
@Papahyooie: i haven't bashed that gaming laptops are useless,since i would love to have one myself but i am saying he should save money and get a laptop that can play fun types of games like valve games and not super intensive like crysis or something,he can do all that with his desktop and use remaining money on upgrading his desktop or use it for other purposes.

Why limit yourself? A lesser laptop would be able to get away with valve games sure, but why limit yourself? Buying a lesser laptop than what you want would be wasting money IMO. well i was only saying he could improve his desktop for his gaming needs and use his laptop for MAIN priority which is maybe uni work?? and not gaming all the time,sure gaming laptop will do the job but it might feed his gaming need more than his actual priority to using the laptop for his main purpose.

Well most people these days seem to buy laptop use them if they go college/uni since they be away from home and it be too much of an hassle to bring the desktop,since having a laptop it be less heavier and less hassle.
If he is only going use a laptop to web browse at home then why spend $1000 just to sit on the sofa to web browse when you can just use your desktop to which save money? If he is going use it for a small little fun lan party why spend that much on a laptop just to play a game like CSS? You wouldn't expect them to have some deathmatch on Crysis or something.

I bought my first laptop when I went to university, and I got a 17" gaming laptop (cheapo Dell 9400 with 7900GS).

I could play games with both my laptop and my desktop, and I don't regret it one bit.
The fact that it was a powerfull laptop 3 years ago, translates into a passable gaming machine even today.

Had I bought a "good looking, light and cool" laptop, right now it would almost useless.
