Next Nintendo DS to feature motion sensors, Zelda Wii due in October.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata dropped a handful of details on the company's next handheld, as well as its upcoming Zelda and Vitality Sensor Wii games, to the Asahi Shimbun newspaper.

Iwata told the paper that the DS successor could be expected to feature a "high level of visual quality," as well as sensors to read a player's movements. However, gamers shouldn't expect the system to arrive anytime soon.

Moving onto the company's Wii software lineup, the paper also reported that the next Wii iteration of Zelda is planned for release at the end of October.

Wouldn't it be ironic if a "ported" version of this next Zelda game was also a launch title on the new console just like Twightlight Princess was updated for the Wii from the GameCube? That would annoy me greatly.

I don't think the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 are outdated, I think those handhelds are outdated by iPod Touch and iPhone and the Wii has bad graphics and the PS3/Xbox 360 is about to have motion. Therefore, yes, outdated. But not all consoles are.

Yes but u can't put the computer in the same group. The computer is a group within itself.

Consoles are not outdated, they cost a metric shit ton less then a decent rig ( except ps3 at launch)

If I spent 129 on a rig I#d get nothing close to the wii in terms of graphics performance.

Yes. I was thinking about getting a current gen DS but I don't think I'd play it enough to justify the cost. I hope the new one is backwards compatible as far as games are concerned so if I do decide to pick one up, I can go retroactive with older games (especially Zelda).

Should put out a retro-Zelda like they did for Mario. Not getting my hopes up as that probably won't happen. But would be nice to just jump into a new story without having to "work at" the controls.
