Hello there,

Want to choose *right* platform, this two:
i5 + p55-ud4
phenom 964 + GA-MA790FXT-UD5P
costs about equal in our shops.
What should i bought? Need advice.

Video will be 5850 (want to add second one later).
Thanks.

According to AT the i5 750 is marginally better for Photoshop.

For everything else I'd say they're pretty even.

Make sure that your case has enough space. The card is incredibly long! :)
Case will be Coolermaster 830.

The 5850 isn't that long actually. In the Stacker there's enough room for it.

In my point of view, if its too cramped, the cable may interfere or block the airflow...

No offence!

Better case + larger case = more things you can add and modify in future. ;)

If you care about power consumption, I'd go for the i5 over the Phenom.

I'd go with the i5 and UD4. Less power consumption, will probably run cooler, and you can get an i7 860 or any other badass 1156 proc. in a few years.

i5 and don`t look back. PII has value only if worked at stock clocks.

Nvidia GTX2XX series is longer. The 5850 is as long as a motherboard. Good airflow is always a good idea though. :)

I would go with the i5 due to it's superior memory bandwith which will really come in handy for things such as Photoshop.

I think 850w psu is overkill, a 650w should be more than enough to supply all the juices. I would go for a 750w for some upgrading space.

I will take it cause it's with case together cost lower then case only and other 750W PSU. Just great deal i think. Will use two 5850 and a lot of hdd later.

This one with low voltage and only 1333 freq, i think i need 1600.

From my limited knowledge I can tell that timings > frequency on i7/i5. But someone with more experience in i5 overclocking should step in here.

For this all you are really going to get are fanboys arguing over Gigabyte or MSI. I prefer Gigabyte because they are known to be more enthusiast friendly.

MSI seems to offer more features, but Gigabyte is well known for their quality.
