Hey guys,

This is stupid, but a stupid question can always turn into a good question. I am sure I know the answer to this already, but I want to double check and make sure I don't purchase a wrong power supply.

I am getting the ASUS A8V Mobo and it has a 24pin connector. Now I know they have 24pin Power Supply's, but the one I like and want to get is a 20+4 connector Power Supply. Here is the question...

Will a 20+4 Power Supply work with a 24pin mobo? Simply just connect the 20 then connect the 4? :banghead:

Insert :newbie: sign here! lol...

Yes that will work...It will also state this in the manual of the mobo.

Enjoy the new board.

Just a quick question as to why you are getting a new mobo

Knew it... :slap: <---ME

My friend has the board and he's letting me take it off his hands for only $50.00 dollars! He's had it for less then 2 months now. He got a deal on the board, and he's moving onto Conroe. He's also a close friend that I have known since I was a kid so he's not going to try to rip me off. :D :toast:

You could get an X800GTO (just like what you currently have) for $70-80...Could hold you over for a while until you need an upgrade.

Plus PCI-Express has a better selection of cards and they are not as expensive as their AGP equals.

I was thinking on the lines of X1900XTX Crossfire Ready card. That way all I would need would be the crossfire edition card! :D I need to research them a little more for their OC'ing capabilities!

That sounds even better.
Just wait a little while after the G80's come out.
Hopefully there will be some price drops :)

Its just 3 weeks.
You could wait it out.
Your current setup should be good enough.
