My 1st pc was an old pentium 1 166mhz w/128mb sd ram and a fantastic in its day voodoo 2 16mb
I was given this back in 2002 off my then mother in law and this was old even then, before that I had no idea about computers. After that I was given a pentium 2 compaq desktop pc and upgraded the ram in it and also fitted an pci adsl modem which is when I realised that upgrading wasn't that hard.
in 2003 I built my 1st pc, an Athlon XP 2500+ Barton core (running at 3200+ and reported as one also, those were the days ) with 512mb ddr and an 80gb hdd and a S3 Savage 2000 64mb gpu, though I soon realised although the savage had 64mb ram it was no good and thats when I started to learn more and realised there was more to it than having a sufficient amount of ram
At that time if you wanted to game there was only really 2 names out there (same as now)ATI and NVIDIA, so I bought a Geforce mx440 64mb to replace the savage and I was amazed at the quality of the graphics on Splinter Cell compared to the PS2.
Its funny having that old P1 was at the time taking me on a life long journey that I never would have imagined, and now I am a total hardware freak and love my (expensive) hobby, I love that old P1, Thank you!!!
